This is Kitty Pryde calling for explanations and sanity. I'd like to be connected to both of those now, if someone doesn't mind.
Buffy the evil dictator has something to say, since apparently I'm a terrible person and destroying childhoods. To date there are fifteen minors in this building that I can think of off the top of my head. If I've missed some one, tell me. I'm about to start dropping names, sorry guys.
Kurt, Quinn and Puck are never going on a hunt, ever, I said that a while ago.
Cissie, Victor, Richie, Virgil and Tim do not report to me, they're not part of my team, I don't send them anywhere or 'make' them do anything. They are something else all together who have their leader here and frankly I'm not getting in the middle of what's been working for them for years.
Brynna, Dawn, Ron and Sarah have never even approached me about the idea of and frankly I think they're happy enough not going out hunting. Yes, I am extremely bias toward Dawn, I always will be, and anyone who's an older sibling had better not say a word on it because I know you're probably the exact same way with your siblings and I will call you on your crap.
Bobby just got here and I still have no idea what his thoughts are.
The only two minors who have every actively gone hunting is Kendra and Clary. Kendra is a Slayer, she's been a potential since the day she was born. She's been training to be a Slayer since the day she was born. She can't turn off being a Slayer, it's not possible. To ask her to even try would be an insult and a slap to the face. Speaking as a slayer who tried to give up being a slayer in favor of a normal life, I know it doesn't work. I'm not saying that's fair, because frankly it's not. But we can't turn off the dreams, we can't turn off the nightmares, and we can't turn off our powers. And appaerntly you haven't noticed that she's been hunting since she got here.
Clary, as far as I can tell, has also been somewhat chosen from birth. She's got abilities she can't turn off. She told me she had her childhood, she grew up normal. It was cut short, but she's okay with that. She comes from a family of people with her abilities, and having been born into that and most likely aware of the choice she had to make, I'm respecting her decision to hunt. Yes, they will make mistakes. Because everyone makes mistakes. Demanding that they are perfect is unrealistic, especially since no one here can claim to have a perfect record. They will learn.
Just so we're clear. That's two (2) minors who come from backgrounds not unlike the hunter lifestyle. Just two, who have the history and the mentality. So if everyone could stop saying that I'm forcing kids to do what I want, train them to be an army and how much of a dictator and childhood killer I am, I'd appreciate that. I'm not killing anything. The only thing I make them do is know self-defense and how to trap a demon or speak the exorcism so they can run the hell away. Some of the have signed up for the more intense training sessions on Wednesdays, their choice. Those who sign up for the Wednesday classes are also on my combat team, but if they're only their for training, that's fine too.
I'm actually a huge fan of run the hell away! But I won't force people who have made their choice and are capable to sit and be kids, when they stopped being kids a while ago.
As for how I got into this position, Andrew and I were asked to run the building. If anyone wants to challenge me, by all means, challenge me. If everyone in the building would prefer you, jobs yours, I'm not going to force myself on anyone. We chose Paige, Paige chose Needy. Martha was the first doctor and Romana is just really good with politics. None of us forced our way into our tiny square offices.
It would be way cooler if I could say oval office.
EDIT: [Filtered; Pike]
...okay, what did you do to Faith?
You know, I always hated being a Hunter when I was a kid. Was toting guns around and shooting at targets before I could recite the alphabet the whole way through. Don't get why people would wanna throw away their childhood for blood and chaos. It's a real waste. And I know, trust me - sometimes it is forced on you, but I always figured that if you guys were staying at the apartments you'd have the choice to decide. Can't imagine choosing the hard life when there's the option of something so much more safe, simple, and as close normal as you can get around here lined up right there for you to take.
Yeah, yeah. Shut up, Sam. I know. Just an opinion. Take it for what you will.

Day after Christmas, Dean and I are leaving.
...and don't comment to any of these people talking to me. I don't want you to argue with them.

Doing all right?
