War Is Coming Communications.

I'm going off a hunt soon. A haunting in Texas. So, I need a volunteer hunter or two to go with me. I could try alone but better with a buddy or two, plus gets done faster Anyone who's been on a couple hunts. I could take up to two people for this. Or possibly three.

As to getting there? One of my special abilities is teleportation. Could just go in a car as a road trip, or I can pay for plane tickets, but it'd also take us just a few seconds with the magic way. Or if you can teleport too, but I can take us all there just fine if I plan to set off in a couple hours. So, any takers?

I was looking for a hunt and found a few more than I expected. Anyone feeling up to take on a case?

Well, it's good to be back in Lawrence, and also to have my human side back. There's a reason why I only use Belthazor's form in emergencies, and even then only briefly Being the other guy wasn't really something I'd want to repeat again. At least I was able to go someplace without people. But hopefully next battle that happens, I'll be able to help. Though I'm always around if anyone has need of a teleporter anytime.

I am going to kill that witch! No. Oh, this isn't good. I, uhh.. can't seem to shift back. No matter how hard I try, I'm stuck in this form. Feels strong Have to resist the pull of ev I'll fight it but this never ends well for me I can still fight. I hope this won't last for too long, though.

So Maleficent isn’t just a one media kinda bitch. Back a ways, the Final Fantasy guys did a game with Disney called Kingdom Hearts. It turned into a series, but I only played the first two. Maleficent was one of the main villains, sort of the leader of the Disney side of villainy. She was also a boss you fight twice in the first game, once in her human-ish form and once as a fucking dragon.

Now some people think this isn’t going to come to a fight. I don’t really believe that. So it stands to reason that if we have to fight her, and even if by some miracle we don’t have to, we should know what she can do. Well, we covered the dragon thing but we also have lots of other ground to cover. I don’t know much about classic fairytales or Disney movies, but I can tell you about the video game. There were two fights with her, one in her human form and one in her dragon form.

FIGHT ONE
TELEKINESIS. Oh god, the telekinesis.
FIRE MAGIC. Obviously, but not breathing it. She turns into a ball of it a couple times during the fights and sort of explodes a couple times to do damage if you’re in close.
DARK MAGIC. I mean dark in the elemental sense, not the moral sense. Void/space/gravity, for those that don’t play as many video games. She seems to be able to use this to mimic some other elemental effects. Or maybe combine it with them.
MINION SUMMONING. This could have just been the game being a game, but thinking about it, she mentioned minions to me back during the first banter I had with her before I knew who she was. So maybe not.

Here’s a video I found of FIGHT ONE. There’s some cutscene stuff at the beginning and end. If you just want to see the fight, you’ll want to skip ahead to about 3:29, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to watch the bits before it to get an idea of her personality.

REALLY FUCKING BIG. Sensing a pattern here?

Here’s a video of FIGHT TWO. The fight starts at 2:39, but again, not a bad idea to watch some of the stuff before it. In fact, watching it gave me a couple of ideas…

FIGHT PREP
It’s going to come down to a fight. I know people want to hope it won’t, but it always does. So what can we do to try and prepare? I had some thoughts.

ANTI-FIRE STUFF: In the game, there’s accessories you can equip that protect against fire damage. Can we mimic that in reality? I’m thinking enchanted armor, or clothes, or whatever works best. Magic-types, can this be done? If so, what do you need and how long do you need? This is probably going to be pretty vital, so if you need special stuff or whatever, I’m sure a lot of us would be willing to pitch in on getting it.

SPECIAL WEAPONS: In the movie, the guy uses an enchanted sword. In the game, you’ve got the Keyblade, which is a kind of…it’s best to think of it as a magic sword shaped like a key. I could try and explain it better, but it’s sort of silly and only makes sense in a Disney thing. I don’t know if special/legendary/magic weapons are necessary or not, but it probably wouldn’t hurt. I happen to have one, but it’s all mace-shaped and I’m thinking bludgeoning her to death shouldn’t be plan A unless we have a damn good way to immobilize her and keep her that way. Anybody else have any? And again, magic-types, how feasible would it be to whip up some more?

GETTING HER VULNERABLE: On this post Lois said something about not being able to kill her in human form. Bad news. EDIT: Hal suggested making her transform. That’s part of why I picked the second video. There were shorter ones without the cutscene bits, but that one kind of gave me an idea about the “make her transform” thing. The guy in the thing uses a dark Keyblade (again, don’t ask) to “unlock her heart”, which is…more silly Disney stuff, but it got me thinking. What did that do? Power overload, it seems like. But it also seemed like she wasn’t forced to change, like she just went FUCK IT I AM FULL OF DARK LET’S TAKE OFF THE KID GLOVES. So he “unlocks her heart” and all of a sudden she’s having a powergasm and flipping out like a kid on Christmas. So maybe we could push her into it somehow, dicking with her emotions or making her feel like she’s already won or something. Thoughts?

…Wow, that got longer than I thought it would. Huh. But here you go, folks.

ETA: Okay, so after talking to people I realized we should also have a list of people willing/able to fight a dragon. If anyone has experience in the field of killing dragons, we'd really love to hear from you. I'll add names to this list as I get 'em, so keep them coming.

Well, I got an idea of what to do at midnight. There's the option of watching the countdown and big ball dropping on TV. But even better.. go to New York and see it happen in person, up close. I might leave to go there around ten or fifteen minutes before it drops. But if anyone would like to tag along, let me know and I'll be the teleport taxi tonight. We might even get to have some New York pizza while we're there. If they're still vending it at that hour, but I'd think they should with all the crowds around there

And now I'm very rich. Well, least now I'm not having to worry about running out of cash or going without necessities. Maybe I can get myself ap penthouse now, or five star living arrangements Have to admit, I like these bauble wishes.

Thinking about taking a trip somewhere tropical for the holidays, maybe Hawaii or Maui. But if anyone should need a teleport taxi for any emergencies soon, just let me know and I'll be there to deliver you to whatever needed destination it may be. I could also help with that kind of transport when the camps start up again later, if those going at the later dates will need a teleporter when that time comes.

So, now that things seem to have settled, I wish to know how to combat these creatures that laid waste to the city so I am better able to fight them should it happen again.

No, this is crazy. Nearly burned myself touching the oven. That's never happened before. And then I find out that I can't shimmer. I tried to teleport somewhere but nothing happened. Can't make any energy balls or fire in my hand either. Nothing. Not even a tiny little spark.

Clothes are gone too. Well, all my nice suits that the Seal had given me a while back, that I had back home. Those are also missing.

I know I'm not everyone's top choice, but this recent rash of attacks I've heard about, it's Moriarty's men, right? I worked with him, they don't know about the new leaf.... I may be able to get something out of them that none of you could because I'm sure they still assume I'm on Team Psychopath. If you let me in on what I need to know, then I can try to get what you need from them.

I'm sure some of ya guys have plans, considering the late notice, but I'm bored and miss home so I'm cooking a giant Thanksgiving dinner if any of ya guys want to stop by. Yes you may bring friends if inclined...or strangers in need of a hot meal.

Since clearly word has not spread enough! SATURDAY NIGHT! There's a party. A great big party of Halloween filled amazingness. Yes, you should dress up. ...let's not let what happened last year get to us, okay? We're going to have music and dancing and tons of food and it's going to be amazing. I'm holding it at the Youth Center, mostly because the gymnasium there can hold everyone with no problem and it isn't as weird getting a DJ in the complex.

NOW! I know not everyone is rolling in money and some of you are new to this time period. You are not exempt. I raided a few costume shops as well as the antique store I used to work at. There's now a huge pile of costumes and pieces that can be made into costumes sitting in the front office at the Center. Neutral location, see how I work? Let's all be friends, dammit If you don't have a costume yet, come on by and take a look, see if you can find something you like.

I expect to see everyone there. No exceptions, or I will stern-face at you. I'm looking at you, Moody Gisborne.

All right, so here's thing. Some of you know me, be it from that damn tv show or from previous versions of me that have been here before, but fact is? You don't know me. Not this specific version of me. So, you know, whatever you know? Keep it mind, sure, it is part of who I used to be, who I still have the potential to be under the right certain circumstances, but who I have no intention of being again in the foreseeable future. Except the things other me's have done here. You should forget those things. Don't judge me on what I haven't done, yeah? I've got some good news and some bad news.

I have heard that second chances are offered here, but with the things I've read lately, it does not give me much hope. I have enough doubts of my own worthiness of such a thing, and the reactions I have seen...they are not entirely comforting. I do not know what Katherine has done, aside from what little I have pieced together, but out of specific context, it does not sound so entirely different from my own wrong-doings. It does not set well with me to think I would be offered a second chance, only to have people speak of me the way people speak of her.

So today's adventure in feeding everyone sweets is chocolate ghosts. I had originally tried to do this when we actually had ghosts...but it all went wrong.

I'm going to take a hunt from Sam soon. But I want to ask, anyone want me to partner up on theirs, or would want to tag along with the one I'm given? I can do solo fine but better with someone else along this first time for caution I've been to Bobby's camp before, so I've been educated. And helped with Pestilence I'd prefer that my partner be another hunter or at least someone who went to the camp or has experience in these things. So if anyone is interested, I need to know before or by Wednesday.
