Who: Claudia and H. G.
What: Skewed timelines means H. G. needs to tell Claudia what happened with Sykes. This will go well.
When: After this
Where: Claudia's apartment
Warning: Angsting, talk of death, near-death experiences with the chess lock, nuclear explosion, and language. Possibly some lashing out from Claudia after finding out?
After getting Claudia's room number, Helena set her computer aside and sat there for a few moments, trying to prepare herself for having this conversation. She really wished Claudia had known all of what had happened, it would've made things easier. Glancing upwards for a moment, silently cursing the seal for this, she stood up and made her way out of her apartment and towards Claudia's. Her pace was slow, giving her time to fully prepare herself, as if one could ever be prepared to tell Claudia news like this. Helena knew Claudia would take the news badly. She knew the young woman would hate to know that the Warehouse was gone, but Helena had ensured that Myka, Pete and Artie survived the blast. If anyone could fix what had happened, it would be the four of them. There was also the fact that Helena was emotional over her death. She apparently was more noble than she believed herself to be, but she really couldn't let all of them die. Someone needed to live.
Arriving at Claudia's door, Helena stood there a moment before she knocked. Running a hand through her hair, she tried to appear as though she wasn't going to deliver the worst news ever. She really did wish the others were here. Of course she knew she was only about to make Claudia worry and depressed, but Helena knew if she didn't tell her now, it would only slip out later somehow, and she'd rather the young woman hear it from her. So it was time to gather all of her strength. Difficult talks were not her strong point. They had been easier once long ago, but she had never been able to keep a brave front very long. She was strong on the outside, but not on the inside. But she had to make this work, she needed to be strong so she could break this news to Claudia as gently as possible. Not as if there was a gentle way of putting it. Finally, Helena knocked on the door, then waited for Claudia to answer it.
