"And it is far easier to adjust as you and I aren't alone here." 2010 had been very hard for Helena to adjust to. McPhearson had been the one to help her originally, though he'd had his own agenda, and was by no means a friend. So her adjustment was pretty much done on her own, which had been hard. She hadn't even known what a laptop was until Myka had shown her in that one college student's room.
"And I like keeping people on their toes. Otherwise it'd just get boring." As Claudia mentioned the connection, Helena smiled warmly and fondly, reflecting back on Myka during the good times. "We did. I'd all but given up on meeting someone like her." It wasn't every day that she had a connection with someone to the extent she had it with Myka, and one could argue she'd never really had one before, save with her daughter. Helena was always careful about letting her emotions show, but right now, she was letting her guard a bit, letting Claudia catch a glimpse of them. Myka was the one she'd truly wanted to lay down her life for, but Pete and Artie couldn't die either. All three of them had to live to figure out how to move on or to fix what had happened. But in those last moments, it was Myka that Helena hadn't taken her eyes off of, and it was Myka that had been the last thing she'd seen.
