"Oh Claudia, you're such a spoilsport," Helena teased back. Though she well knew she should try to keep the ideas in her head to a dull roar for the meantime, until she got more used to this place. "Most definitely. Perhaps I'll even be able to physically transport us instead of just transporting our consciousness." Because really, it would be difficult enough to have a psychometric time machine but not know anyone in the past to inhabit for a while.
"Precisely." It was a very true statement, and sometimes that was when people really surprised others. Or themselves, as was Helena's case. Twice in one day she'd been prepared to sacrifice herself for the greater good. She did hope that in the end, that's how the Warehouse staff would remember her. They wouldn't focus so much on her having been bronzed or her trying to end the world. Though it was hard to tell if she'd left enough of an impression to erase her preceding reputation.
"Believe me, it's not what I wanted to tell you. I wanted to tell you of a happy ending, of beating the bad guy and getting the artifact. But you are correct, the Warehouse isn't exactly something one can expect things from. It will always do what you weren't expecting." It was the nature of the Warehouse to be chaotic, perhaps because of all the artifacts within it. It was much like a living being, only a very unpredictable one. But at the same time, it was home to Helena, as she also knew it was Claudia's home. "But we wouldn't have it any other way, would we?"
