"Yes, unfortunately." Helena took a deep breath, tucking some hair behind her ear. "With the barrier erected, nothing could get in or out. We discovered that in Sykes' wheelchair, he had an artifact wired to an explosive. The artifact was a piece of masonry from the House of Commons in London that absorbed the whole concussive force of the German luftwaffe during World War II. So, it was essentially a nuclear bomb."
And now came the difficult part. "Myka, Pete and Artie did everything they could to disarm it. While they tried doing that, I had an idea and poked around in the Warehouse's computer system. I found an anomly in the system that allowed me to reroute part of the exterior barrier to a small area on the floor. I managed to put a smaller barrier around the three of them, leaving me unprotected. I could only initiate the barrier from outside of it. When the device exploded, I was incinerated, along with the Warehouse and everything in it except Myka, Pete and Artie." Helena closed her eyes and lowered her head. "In those few moments before the explosion, I smelled apples. Not everyone smells the apples, but it's a sign that the Warehouse likes you." She felt the tears start to well up, it was good that her eyes were closed.
"So the Warehouse is gone. And...so am I. Well, in our world. I'm alive here, obviously." She opened her eyes, a tear managing to slip out of it. She quickly brushed it away and took a deep breath. "So yes, that is what Sykes' plan was, to destroy the Warehouse."
