The Snarry Drinking Game

A few years ago the ever amazing dementordelta decided we needed a Snarry drinking game. And like all the very best games, the rules are very flexible and everyone can play and have a good time. All you need is time, fic, and the beverage of your choice. I'm a Diet Mountain Dew gal myself, but anything will work. Though I'd suggest something non-alcoholic if you actually want to get through an entire fic. The right fic could give you a pretty good buzz before you got halfway through even a pwp in some cases. ;D

Most of you have seen my Snarry art. Now I want to see yours! Stick figures, Photo manips, and MS Paint masterpieces happily encouraged. Everyone of any drawing ability is welcome. It's all about the fun today in this post! Just create your masterpiece and post it as a comment to this entry. It may look too large, but it'll fit. (now where have I heard that before?)

If you have any questions about how to post art in the comments, just ask. I'll be happy to help.

As a bonus, everyone who posts something will be entered into a drawing for some absolutely gorgeous original Snarry art by the fabulous Mistress of Scat herself, tripperfunster.

On October 23th, 2000, Majolique posted the first Snape/Harry fic, Midnight Confessions. Today, ten years later, snape_potter on IJ, LJ and DW are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the first Snarry fic ever written.

We invite all of you to join in the celebration by sharing your views at the discussion posts and by posting your thoughts about the happy couple or congratulatory wishes for 10 more decades years together here in this post. DON'T BE SHY! EVERYONE WHO LOVES SNARRY IS WELCOME!!!

You may even want to post (or even re-post) to the community itself some of your Snarry creations like drabbles, fic, art, crafts, rec lists, anything Snarry is welcome. I know I will! And we already have some gifts to the community and a bit of fun that I'll be posting throughout the day.

On the Snarry Friending Meme (which you can find on snape_potter at LiveJournal, InsaneJournal, or Dreamwidth) one of the questions we ask is for people to list their top three favorite Snarry fics. Almost everyone noted that it was next to impossible to pare down their selections to ‘only three’. Well, now we'd like to make it even harder. We’d like you to list your all-time, single most favorite Snarry story. The story you re-read a dozen times and it still makes you as excited as the first time you read it. The one Snarry fic that you'd take with you on a desert island.

So, we're asking you for the impossible – tell us your favorite Snarry story and why you chose it. We realize this can change daily, but today, which one would you pick?

Despite change being the only constant, I really never do well with change. When I look back over the posts I made on my own journal leading up to the release of each new book in the series, I was always wibbling. Always worried what each new revelation of canon would mean to my beloved ship.

But we've survived the closing of canon and even found several ways to work around that pesky death scene (no body, no burial, no portrait, no death). But what do you think will happen after the release of the last HP movie next July? And what do you think is in store for Snarry during the next 10 years?

I have to confess that I try not to feel guilty about any of my pleasures, but if you had to name some of your guilty pleasure fics, which would they be? Are there one or two dozen you always turn to? Or is there a particular genre or author?

For me, it's mpreg fic. Full-stop. It's like my kryptonite. I have no defense against it. I love it. Always. In any fandom. Even when it's dreadful. Sometimes especially when it's dreadful. ;D The only possible exception is when an author thinks they are being clever by making fun of it. And they almost never are. I think to properly make fun of something you need to have a genuine affection for it. It's laughing with someone as opposed to laughing at them. For me, a good example of how this can be done with mpreg is OMG! Not Another MPREG by mahaliem. Even people who hate mpreg might be at least a little bit tempted by this summary: Harry and Snape fall in love, have a baby, and live happily ever after – NOT! (except for the baby part which is, unfortunately, true).

So what about everyone else? Tell me about your guilty pleasure fics.

So Let's Talk About Your First Time...

No, not that first time. ;D The first time you read Snarry or even any Harry Potter fan fic. Do you remember the title of the first Harry Potter fic you ever read? Were you hooked immediately or did it take awhile? How did you find Harry Potter fan fiction in the first place? And what did you think the first time you saw the HP/SS pairing? Intrigued? Skeptical? We'd love to know what you thought.

What's a party without party favors?! We'll have more celebratory art and icons coming, but we wanted to start off the party with some banners and icons featuring the amazing Snarry art from artisticentropy (who drew the younger Snarry art) and ponderosa121 (who drew the more mature Snarry art).

Back to Hogwarts will wrap up on Wednesday, Sept 23rd. To finish in a big way, beginning Monday, September 20th, we will be posting a bonus entry at noon on each of the final three days. A Masterlist of participants will follow shortly. We hope everyone has been enjoying the fest as much as we have! ;D

With two amazing Snarry fic or art entries posted every day beginning Wednesday, Sept 1 and ending when we're spent. Hopefully Severus brewed some stamina potion for us and for Harry!

The deadline for entries for the Back to Hogwarts fest is rapidly approaching (August 15). Since there may be some people out there who are ready, or nearly so, to send their fics to beta, it's time to call for beta reader volunteers.
