SNARRY-A-THON24 PROMPT CLAIMING IS OPEN

Snarry-a-Thon is open to everyone over age 18 and anyone may claim a prompt. The fest rules and FAQs can be found here. Each prompt may be claimed up to four times - twice by an author and twice by an artist. If you would prefer to use a prompt of your own creation or any of the over 2,900 prompts from a previous Snarry-a-Thon, please claim Wild Card #1. You can find previous prompt posts at these links: 2009: part 1, 2009: part 2, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

When you sign up, you do not have to list an alternate prompt. But if you do, priority will always be given to your first choice. As this is not an exchange fest, authors and artists should feel free to interpret/adapt the prompts in whatever manner they decide.

Requests for specific characters (other than Snape and Harry), specific kinks (unless they are critical to the spirit of the prompt), situations, time periods, or type of ending are up to the discretion of the writer/artist and some prompts were edited for inclusion. Unedited prompts can be found at the original "Call for Prompts" posts on DW and LJ.

Don't hold back. All kinds of prompts are welcome - happy prompts, dark prompts, silly prompts, kinky prompts, fluffy prompts, romantic prompts, art prompts, prompts set in the past, present, or future, prompts from any universe, both unique ideas and beloved fandom tropes....We welcome any flavour of Snarry. Let your fantasies run wild! Submitting prompts doesn't commit you to anything.

Each person may leave up to FIFTEEN prompts. And because we will be posting prompts inside a text box, we ask people please try to limit your prompts to no more than two or three sentences. We would like to reiterate that Snarry-a-Thon is not an exchange and personal preferences like who tops or side-pairings not essential to the spirit of the prompt may be edited from the final prompt. Last year's prompt table is here if you'd like to get a better idea what your prompt will look like in its final form.

Prompting is open until 11:59 pm (EST) on January 23. The complete list of all prompts will be posted at 12 pm (EST) on January 24. Comments will be temporarily disabled to give everyone a chance to read over the entire list of prompts and decide which prompt they would like to claim. On Thursday, January 25, at 11 am (EST), comments will be enabled on the post and claiming of prompts will begin.

Snarry-a-Thon is an anonymous, prompt-based fic and art fest hosted at snape_potter and posting at AO3 as well as LJ and DW. We will no longer be posting fest entries to IJ. This fest is all about having fun with our favorite pairing and celebrating the enduring love we have for these two men and they have for each other. Posting will begin on May 1, 2024. Snarry-a-Thon 2024 - The madness of love is the greatest of heaven's blessings.

The Call for Prompts for the Fifteenth Anniversary Edition of Snarry-a-Thon will begin shortly!

It's six months to the day until entries are due for Snarry-a-Thon24!

We thought we'd take this opportunity to reach out to those creators who might need more than the standard 2-3 months to submit an entry.

Though we haven't made the official fest announcement with dates and FAQs, it will run in much the same fashion as in the past.

The announcement, prompting and sign-ups will take place in January but you may certainly look over all our past prompts in the meantime. Or perhaps you have a half-finished fic you'd like to submit or something longer than your usual that needs more time. We've had entries in previous years of jewelry and quilts, cakes and Bento boxes, knitted dolls and bound books.
