I can't figure out if I'm pleased or annoyed that I'm scheduled to work Thirst on Saturday.

I am finally feeling better!!! These flu seasons huh, just so hard.

Thankfully, I am back on my feet as we approach the beginning of October! Which means planning for pumpkin everything!

There will be a plan for trick or treating put into effect, I think parents are a tiny bit wary right now, so we're fielding a bunch of questions at work. That did not help me get better quicker.

But gosh! I love October! I can't wait to get spooky!

I can't believe that summer is almost over already! But at the same time that means fall is coming!!! Literally my favourite season.

This whole week we're doing a supplies drive for the kids going back to school. We're hoping to make up a backpack full of supplies for every child in the community so that they've got all the material they need to go back or start school with everything they'll need to thrive.

Donations can be made at the Town Hall, we will be running the event from now until the week the kids return to school at the end of August. We're also planning one more trip before schools start back so keep an eye out to come along with us!

Back in Maine, the first frost usually hit by mid-September, the growing season is way short. So I kept thinking about how the summer is basically over in like two weeks.

Just, didn't realise at all that it'll stay warm here well into October.

So I've got some weekends I need to reschedule.

I'm having a hard time sitting by while people die things happen.

I shouldn't meddle. It'll cause a big fuss with Fate and Mikey and blah blah blah. I can hear his stupid monotone voice in my head and he's not even around. "Leave it be, Gabriel." Like I haven't heard that literally ALL of my existence.

I know I shouldn't meddle.

But I neeeeeed to.

So we bought a house. The house has been empty for a while and needs some sprucing up. I don't have a problem with doing it, but that doesn't mean I can't have some fun while doing it.

So I'm jamming out to True Colors, and my son walks in, takes one look at me, hikes both eyebrows (he got that from me, darn his expressive face!), and walks backward out the way he came in.

I, of course, take this opportunity to point my broom at him and tell him 'I SEE YOUR TRUE COLORS, AND THAT'S WHY I LOOOOVE YOOOU!'

If nothing else, it made him laugh.

Hey everyone! So this Sunday, the summer camp is going to be hosting a crafty afternoon of pour painting, hosted on the grounds of St. Verdiana's church. We'll be providing canvases of varied sizes and loads of paints, pouring medium, silicone, alcohol and different objects that can be used to apply the paint.

We've rented an open event tent, so there will be shade, but please make sure you bring a water bottle (it's better for the environment!) and sunscreen because we will be outside for most of the day! There'll be a picnic lunch in the afternoon, so if you're interested please let me know if you have any dietary needs or restrictions.

Because the activity will be free for the summer camp kids, we'll be collecting $20 from all the adults and other people who want to sign up. That'll go towards the lunch, tent rental and art supplies. We'd also accept donations! Please sign up below and I'll add you to the list.

You're all very quiet. How is everyone today?

Aquarium trip on Thursday!

Oh gosh I'm so excited! The kids are so excited! We've rented a coach to take us to Boone, it's about a 30 minute drive. The kids that are going have already filled out their forms and there's still 10 spaces for anyone else who wants to join us!!!

For anyone under 20, it's free! Over 20 and there is a $10 charge for admission and lunch but aside from that it's going to be an amazing trip!

Coach leaves from Town Hall at 8am sharp so that we can get to the Aquarium before 9am, lunch will be at 12, there's going to be two presentations including a feeding of some turtles which will be amazing! We'll be home by 6pm.

So what's the buzz, tell my what's happening?

I am beginning to worry that customer service is going to numb me to idiotic questions.

A man came in today, asking about 'the book with the purple cover'. Literally all he knew about it. His wife wanted it for their planned vacation and all he heard about her describing it was 'the purple cover'. There are currently nine titles with what I'd call purple, and another seven for what could pass as purple for others.

It's safe to say he didn't want to buy all 16 titles on the off chance that one of them was correct.

And somehow it was my fault for not knowing what his wife wanted.

I really want classes to start soon.

Now, with the Summer Fete wrapped up, a huge thank you to all the vendors, entertainment and volunteers who helped make it happen!!! It's always nice to see a successful demonstration on community spirit in the area and how everyone can enjoy the best that our lovely little town has to offer!

An even bigger thanks to the Sheriff station, fire department and all of the medical staff for their tireless work throughout the week.

The summer supervision classes for those aged between three and fifteen start on Monday at the Town Hall, drop off your kids for our fun and exciting summer adventures between 11am and 3pm! Wednesday's class are going for a hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains with the tour guide department, so remember to pack for walking and send them off with a packed lunch!
