The Defenders don't get no respect...
I always like the Defenders it was an offbeat book from Marvels bronze age. It didn't have alot of big names in it so they could be free with the interaction and turn up the drama. I'd like to see the book come back as a non canon experience set in a retro 1983 ( a true bronze age book)taking advantage of history. Sort of like the retro Sentry book , but more serious :)
...and they had great villains like Egghead and the headmen !

Fie Rat Comics: Divide by Zero
Well, Fire Rat comics are drawn, written, and sold by my friend Cassie at school
They are riddled with inside jokes, BL, crack and copious amounts of awesome
Up until this point, they've all been too inside joke-y for s_d to properly enjoy
That is, until I received the "divide by zero" series (I have 2 out of the 3 pages in this series)
This is the first comic, divide by zero
Or rather, half of it, before my computer decided to be a bitch and not read my memory card when I took pictures f the last few panels...

Harley, Mr. J, and Mr. B
From the end of the Kesel run.
The Joker escaped Arkham, again... Then dropped off the face of the Earth. Batman recruited Harley to draw him out. She did, and found him living like a hermit. She told the Joker what she was doing, and that she was playing along with Batman to make sure he didn't get caught. She suggested keeping Bat's brain busy while they... Um, she meant the Joker... figured out what they'd do, next.
The Joker sent her back to Batman with a joke related clue to his big plan. Batman made a deduction, and told Harley to take him to the Joker, but she said that it would go down whether the Joker was behind bars, or not, and that he wouldn't tell her the details. So, he sent her back, and she told him what Batman deduced. The Joker sent her back with another joke related clue, Batman made another deduction and sent her back, and so on...
Then, we get to the punchline...

When Wondy was Awesome, part 1 (Birth of a Wonder)
Alright, both by request and because I myself feel something at a loss with it gone, here commences the repost of my When Wondy was Awesome series from our LJ incarnation.
We'll begin, as is proper, at the beginning - the origin of the character as she is now. The concept of Wonder Woman, of course, is one of the oldest in Big Two comics, as she was first created by Marston back in 1941. However, once the Golden Age ended and the character passed into other hands, she became something of an albatross to the company - they were under contract to keep publishing her, but they didn't really know what to do with her, and her title quickly devolved into a miserable sexist mess from which it never entirely recovered.
Thus, with Crisis on Infinite Earths, Editorial completely erased Wonder Woman from past continuity, deciding she would enter the DCU for the first time in the late 80s - allowing them to start over and try to really do her justice. After a long (and terrifying to read about for fear of what might have been) process, they finally found a team that they thought could both create a new and viable character, and preserve the essence of the one who came before; thus Diana passed into the hands of Greg Potter and the now-definitive George Perez.
( And hot damn was that a good call. )
Next time: The nonsensical American flag bathing suit is made to make some small sliver of sense, we learn what kind of person inspires an amazon and why we should care about Steve Trevor, and Diana kills a hecatoncheries, as we tackle the second, less prominent but no less awesome half of Wonder Woman's origin.
