Books of Magic: Summonings
Hi, I'm inflicting just one more Books of Magic post on you. This is from the beginning of the "Summonings" TPB, showing Timothy Hunter of the future (Khara calls him "Mr. Wrong" because SPOILER: he's an asshole) starting to realize something has gone very, very off. (9 scans, issue more than 22 pages.)

Oh, Tim. How sweet of you to bring me chocolates. How did you know it was my birthday...? By the way, there is something I've been meaning to tell you... that dragon we met in Hell? That was you. We had a lovely chat while you were out smashing mountains. He told me how he'd sold his memories of childhood to all kinds of interesting demons, and how he loved me so much that he'd *xeroxed* me hundreds of times, and yelled at me, hurt me, and killed me, and given me to Vuall so I could learn to be a perfect little wife. Of course, he said, you don't *have* to turn out to be him. In fact, he said he'd be rather surprised if you did— )

Books of Magic: from the Reckonings TPB
Molly has been kidnapped by the retarded pink dinosaurs and is now trapped in Hell, forced to listen to the Governess because the Governess is torturing Crimple. Molly is told to read from a book. (8 scans, issue longer than 22 pages; writer John Ney Rieber and illustrator Peter Snejbjerg.)

Shrinking Violetta, or the Princess Who Did As She Pleased. )

Tim also had to read a story. His was shorter. I'll get to Gotham Central later.

Books of Magic: to Hell and Back (Reckonings)
I just got around to reading this place again, and remembered that once upon a time I had posted to the old scans_daily with Books of Magic scans that hey, I still have around. And there are only two Books of Magic entries, so here. (8 pages scanned, issue was longer than 22; writer John Ney Rieber and illustrator Peter Snejbjerg.)

This is the time Molly got kidnapped by the retarded pink dinosaurs. )

I only got to read up to "Girl in the Box", and my library doesn't have "Burning Girl", so I never saw for myself what happened to Molly although I do know. Does anyone have any scans? Books of Magic was my first comic and I love it. Even if no one else does B|. Also, I notice we apparently have no Gotham Central (otherwise known as CSI: Gotham) scans, so I will fix that with the time they shot Batman.

The Corinthian: Death In Venice (plus some junk)
The Corinthian is, well, so fucking creepy. I don't even know where to begin. Seriously, I haven't had that many nightmares about a fictional character since kindergarten (about, er, Captain Hook!). Obviously, though, that was the intention. :P
Anyway, I've decided to start reading as many of the Sandman spinoffs as I can find, beginning with Gaiman's Death miniseries which I posted earlier. The Corinthian: Death In Venice is written by Darko Macan and illustrated by Danijel Zezelj (??) and was, frankly, quite disappointing. Not scary at all. It seemed to be trying to channel Ann Rice, but failing. HE EVEN LOOKS LIKE BRAD PITT

Without further ado, scans:
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING MARGINALLY DIFFERENT:
There.

Death: The High Cost Of Living
Death: The High Cost Of Living is a three-issue miniseries published by Neil Gaiman, published in 1993 as a Sandman spinoff.
One day in every century Death takes on human flesh, better to comprehend what the lives she takes must feel like, to taste the bitter tang of mortality.
This is the price she must pay for being the divider of the living from all that has gone before, all that must come after.

Featuring almost everyone's favorite anthropomorphic personification of kicking the bucket, being cute. Also spoilers.

Yeah, I'm not fashionably tardy, I'm just straight-up late.
In honor of the IDF, some pages from the last couple issues of MADAME XANADU, in which we learn a thing that would never in a million years have even occurred to me which nonetheless makes more than perfect sense the moment it's there.

One Perfect Endless Moment - #2 Death
From Sandman #20, "Facade" from the Dream Country arc.

It was so hard to pick a single moment, but this, for the last panel alone, remains my favourite.

Perfect Desire Moment
This is my perfect Desire moment, Gaiman perfectly shows just how self-obsessed s/he is, and how much a creature of the moment, and the words utterly haunt me. I really wanted to use it in my dissertation, but unfortunatly I couldn't find a way to work it in, this makes up for it.
