Sanzo's words rang in Goku’s mind and he sighed, tossing and turning on the bed. He growled and went to sit outside for some air. He stared up at the stars and wiped at his eyes.

“Goku.”

“You hate me,” Goku said.

Cigarette smoke puffed into the air before Sanzo sat beside him. “I don’t hate you. Things are just complicated.”

“Really?”

“I care about you more than you’ll ever realize,” Sanzo confessed.

I love you too, Goku thought with a smile.

In a competition of who has the bigger scar, the Sanzo-ikkou have everyone beat with 100 points.
