The unsettling clouds threatened more rain. Gojyo was tired of seeing both Sanzo and Hakkai mope, so he thought if he could get them drunk they would be able to forget – if only temporarily.
Unconscious and drooling on the table, Gojyo groaned, drawing Hakkai’s attention. Hakkai also noticed Sanzo snoozing in the corner with his glass of alcohol nuzzled in his hand. Hakkai was envious.
Hakkai stared bitterly at his glass. Maybe after this drink he would be able to reach oblivion. He knocked back the glass and refilled it. Maybe after this drink he would be able to forget.
