With matters sorted out, Graham headed for the zombie door-- third time's a charm, yeah? Whatever the hell that meant. He wasn't worried. He wasn't scared. He wasn't much of anything, truth be told. Numb. He was numb, but numb wasn't all that bad. It was comfortable. And having something to focus on that had nothing to do with Lore, that helped. He had a goal, a purpose: find Clem and Shane. Help them get out. What happened after didn't matter, first they had to get there.
He was dressed real simple, and he packed only essentials. Ammo, a change of clothes for Clem (and Shane too, in case), extra food and water, along with other various supplies. His gun was in his holster and a machete was strapped to his chest under his jacket; he'd reach for that first. And, all prepared, in he went. Shane's map and his own knowledge weren't much to go off of, but for Graham it was enough. He'd manage. He remembered where the prison was, knew he could find it all right, and from there he had the map. Might take some time, but he'd get there.
This time, he was alone.
Maybe he could've fallen back on old habits, but he'd made Lore a promise. No more, he said, and he wasn't about to go back on his word. It had to mean something. Her coming back, then leaving all over again, it couldn't be for nothing. A promise was a promise, yeah? So this was him, trying to let her go.
Shane hadn't been joking when he said the place was swamped, Graham found that out real fast. It was coming on nightfall by the time he reached the town, but the dead roamed the streets; he heard them before he saw them. He was quiet, careful, keeping out of sight while he scoped out the area and tried to work out his next step. There were too many to kill, even with the now bloodstained machete against his chest; it'd draw too much attention anyway. Best to see if he could keep behind the houses, find a way in round back. Less to deal with that way, maybe, and if he killed the zombies quick it might be okay.
