Re: TWD: graham + clem
Being all torn up about things he couldn't change had worn him clear out. Graham felt like he could sleep for a week, but he'd gone from Lore going away to being surrounded by the undead with nothing in between; he'd let it all catch up with him once they were all out safe. "Yeah," he agreed, about being caught up in their own woes, because she was right. They'd been so wrapped up in their own selves that there wasn't much left over for Shane. "Should've seen it, but I didn't." Maybe he hadn't wanted to, or maybe he'd really been that damn blind. He hesitated, looking over at her with something troubled in his gaze. "His brother's dead. Shane's. Was gonna tell him when he got back." Wasn't anything the man could do about it in here, was his thinking, and he knew grief could mess people up; he didn't want Shane getting killed because of it.

No matter how angry Jake was at him, he shouldn't've have taken it out on his aunt. He could bear it, but her? She didn't deserve it none. "Know he's real angry and hurt, but that ain't your fault. You did no wrong by him. That's on me." He sighed again. "Shouldn't be treating you like he did." But he'd tried and tried to reach out to his son, only to get not a damn thing back. Figured it was best to wait until he got back to the land of the living before trying again. He did wonder where he and Shane'd go if Jake went to the house in Marvel, but he didn't say a thing about it. They'd figure something out. Always did. Penny could watch Joy until they got settled. "Yeah. Ain't Jack's responsibility, to look after somebody else's boy." He appreciated it, but of course the man might be aggravated some.

He shook his head. "Don't think Lore wanted to die. Course she'd have wanted to live. Mean she didn't want to be held onto... after. When she was gone." Graham opened his eyes, looked down when she squeezed his fingers. "She died and I didn't let her go. Everybody kept telling me the same thing. Can't get the past back, but I didn't want to hear it." He smiled, but it was a sad thing. "Guess some of us got to learn the hard way."
