Re: TWD: graham + clem
Clem wasn't real sure about Jake's sense, but the boy was twisting things she said, and she wasn't real happy with it. But like every damn thing out there, in the world beyond this rotting place, it didn't matter a whole lot. She knew some about working to fill time, because she didn't need a penny, but she worked every damn night just to do something that wasn't sitting around. Might be different if she had folks living in, but working had gotten her through being alone, least at first, before Jake had come.
"Damn right I'd say," she agreed. Clem wasn't real good at martyring. She wasn't real good at being nice when she didn't mean it, neither. "You like her?" she asked of Evie, who she hadn't been real impressed with. But if Shane wanted Evie along, Clem wouldn't argue any. Couldn't promise to be nice to that wild woman with the real bad haircut, but she'd let Shane have her along, if that's what the man wanted. She questioned his sanity some, but who knew what that man was thinking half the time.
She grinned when he sighed all dramatic. "Quit that. World's ending. Can't go sighing when the world's ending." But her expression went serious some. "When we go out there, you're teaching me how to manage, you hear? I ain't staying up here, and I'm real done being useless."
