Re: TWD: graham + clem
"How a woman looks is always important, sugar," she said, like even in the middle of the damn zombie apocalypse things like pretty faces had value. "Don't matter what else is going on, pretty's got more value than ugly. You think she's pretty any?" His exasperation made her smile some, and it always did entertain her when he was real aggrieved, long as he wasn't mad and being an ass about it any. But this was just real standard Graham annoyance, and that kind of thing was regarded with a grin that was real enough, even with the dead folks banging some at the door at the stairs. But she did scoff some at Shane liking a woman on account of her being pretty. "Ain't got the slightest clue what makes Shane like a person. Figure being pretty matters. Seems to like momma-types that got some crazy going on on upstairs some. But Marina, she's striking plenty. I been helping her. She's real unhinged, but vain as narcissus, and I bet she was the prettiest thing in the world in her twenties. Reminds me of me some," she added, her smile real vain-bright.
"This ain't what comes after," she insisted of the dead banging at that door, and Shane always did say that thing wouldn't hold a whole lot longer. "Believed in Jesus until Lore died. Now I think there ain't a thing after this, sugar," she motioned to him, to her, and she looked toward the window. "How long we giving the man?"
