Project X34

PROJECT X34

The United States government has requisitioned a team of top scientists from across the country to work in secret on a classified experiment now known as Project X34. The goal of the experiment is to figure out how to genetically modify humans in a permanent fashion, keep the subjects from perishing due to modification complications, and to fully test the functionality of each modification using different scenarios in hopes that they will be able to implement the procedures into specifically chosen, small, squadrons in each branch of the military. The general public has no knowledge of this experiment nor will they in the future. Subjects are chosen at random and just seem to disappear off the face of the Earth, never knowing exactly why they have been chosen for such a project. To prevent subjects from going rogue, and to keep an eye on the status of each subject through each scenario, each group is placed into a large-scale dome-shaped area that is inescapable complete with twenty-four hour continuous surveillance by cameras that are unable to be discovered.

The first six experiments of this nature have failed; seventy percent of test subjects in each dome expired due to effects of their mutation, twenty percent due to scenario testing, and the other ten percent were properly disposed of by those running the project. This is their seventh and final try before the project is restaffed and the scientists themselves are disposed of to prevent information leaks. They have tweaked their formulas and testing procedures and have decided that by focusing on smaller numbers there was a chance of a much higher survival rate, though they do not expect all subjects to last for the duration. Sixteen people have been selected from various locations though it is unclear to participants if there is a link they all share or if they were chosen by sheer chance and misfortune. Some were kidnapped off the street; some came from places where they were being held against their will.

In a place where survival is key, do you have what it takes to last through Project X34 or will you be among those considered failed experiments?

Zenith

When your eyes open you're staring up at an unfamiliar ceiling. The world is hazy and you feel as though you’ve been in this place a long time. Slowly, awareness filters in. You’re lying in a strange bed, an IV in your arm. You wear a hospital gown and a bracelet identifying you as a subject number.

Not patient.
Subject. This is all wrong.

You sit up and take in your surroundings. You are in a room tailored to your tastes. With a jolt of alarm, you realize a camera points at you from the ceiling. You are being watched. On the floor near the bed sits a cardboard box. Slowly you make your way to it and find whatever clothing you were wearing last.

You remember now. You’d been going about your daily life when someone approached you. You had a moment’s warning that you were in danger, and then—nothing. You opened your eyes and found yourself staring up at fluorescent lights. Something vaguely like a hospital room. The feel of restraints upon your wrists. Those restraints are gone now. There's nothing else for it: you must open the door.

Mount Zenith is an original psychological horror game centering around the abduction of a seemingly random group of people, and the experiments they are subjected to. Every day the characters will be tested against strange scenarios and harsh stimuli. They will have no choice but to live and work with one another in the strange town they have been placed in. Play by the rules and be rewarded. Refuse, and be punished. They have no contact with their captors, but one thing is apparent: escape is impossible.

Through the course of gameplay the characters will come to realize their selection for this involuntary experiment isn’t random at all. Each and every one of them has something in common - a secret that’s been kept from them their whole lives...

Islington Prep is one of the best schools in the Eastern United States, and one of the things that Islington prizes above all else is pride: pride in oneself, pride in one's house, and pride in the school. So the fact that the school is slowly but surely heading towards bankruptcy, while not common knowledge, is cause for alarm for those in the know. Because there's a nasty, insidious little rumor that the dip in funds is due to someone dipping their hand in the school's coffers.

Aware of the school's financial difficulties, the local Board of Education has offered to buy the school, which sounds like the ideal solution... except that would mean de-privatizing the school, something many of the students (to say nothing of their parents) are vehemently against. After all, they're paying an exorbitant amount of money in part for the exclusivity and security that Islington affords. There are even those who have gone on record stating that letting in scholarship students was enough of an indignity.

So just what would you do to save your school as you know it? Will you throw yourself into school life harder than ever, hoping that Islington's board will see what a mistake selling the school would be? Or have you heard the rumors, and decided to actively seek the truth about the disappearing money?

******

‘Islington Prep’ is a completely non-supernatural original game set in a prestigious boarding school in Maryland.

We're looking for writers who are dedicated to character development and quality writing. We have a bunch of different (IC) events planned, designed to both foster activity and to give characters a chance to compete for their House, because who doesn't like a bit of friendly competition?

We'd like to see a good mix of both moneyed students (both those against the sale of the school, and those who don't particularly care!) and scholarship students (who are probably pretty tired of the stigma that lingers around scholarships and for whom the sale would mean a dramatic decrease in school fees). Bring on the inevitable conflict between the so-called Haves and Have-Nots!

So, if this type of game appeals to you then please read the relevant information and join us!

Amor Fati

A hundred and eighty years ago, all that once was, was lost. Only a sliver of humanity and the others that inhabited our world managed to survive. Sickness came as swiftly as the bullets and bombs that started the quick downfall, wiping out whole communities, cities, sometimes even small nations.

History went dark. No one is truly sure as to who started it or why and truth be told it doesn't matter anymore. What matters is restoring what we had lost. Most people these days have settled down. Their ancestors took over old cities, remote villages, rebuilt what was lost in the war the best they could with what little they had. There are those who don't even settle down because generations were brought up wandering and raiding, and it no longer feels right to stay rooted to one spot to them. This meager way of living isn't enough; just surviving isn't enough but there are those who think bringing back all the technology and knowledge we lost will only lead to the true end and they are violent in trying to prevent it from happening. They have burned libraries, whole towns and parts of cities to the ground for the sake of ignorance.

You could say we're not quite there yet. Civilization is a dream not entirely realised, and what little tech we have feels stone aged compared to the stories we were told of what was.

Things are changing, slowly, yet it's still a harsh world to live in and death lingers at every corner in the guise of so many things that had once been fixed.

Praestare: a preternatural roleplay

Woodhaven was established in 1542 by Pastor Abram of the Lutheran Church, when the town was built around Saint John’s Lutheran Church. In less than twenty years the town managed to quadruple it’s population and moderately wealthy in trade with lumber, coal and produce. Good fortune seems to have smiled on the residents, as there is no history of famine or plague upon record, nor aberrations in livestock.

However, the town has suffered it’s fair share of violent animal attacks or missing persons over the years. Although in the last fifty years this has grown to be far less common.

Woodhaven is not a typical tourist destination, but it still draws visitors from local nearby towns and the occasional straggler who is looking to lose themselves in Devonshire county.

ENJOY YOUR STAY

Praestare is an original character roleplay that takes place in the fictional town of Woodhaven, located in the United Kingdom. The primary focus of this game is on character development — be it through choices, relationships, or orchestrated events. This game is played in paragraph storybook format: we do not mind the use of gifs included in your thread, but no one liners, please. Currently, we’re a small group of writers looking to challenge our writing and expand our creativity with other like-minded individuals - if you think this is a good fit for you, please join us!

The Order

THE ORDER
Five hundred years ago, the island of Holuan was occupied by the Elentori Empire. The continent of Holuan was relatively small, but strategically important and abundant in resources. The fact that it was already home to many races and creatures was of no importance to the empire. The elves were driven into the forests, the dwarves underground, the dragons into the mountains. The empire fought tooth and nail for control of Holuan, determined to make it their latest jewel. A small colony of settlers became a bustling city. The emperor seated his younger brother in control of his latest province. He came to regret that choice.

Within a year brother waged war against brother. The emperor, a bloody and war-mongering individual, came to hear the whispers of his nobles. Rumors circulated that they favored deposing the tyrant in favor of the younger, fairer brother. The emperor vowed to crush his brother, but in the end Holuan proved too treacherous. The emperor chose reason over the sword, and proposed a peace treaty. He would allow Holuan to secede from the empire and set his brother on the throne of the new kingdom, but in exchange Holuan could never again take up arms against the empire. The bargain was struck, and the kingdom of Holuan was officially founded.

But some wondered how it could be so. The Empire had every possible advantage over the island. How could they be beaten as far back as a truce? The answer may surprise anyone not native to the kingdom. It was all thanks to one man and his order of followers.

The Order of Galchobhar runs strong today. Will you strike a bargain of your own?

The Order is an original high fantasy roleplay. The game is set in a fictional world, on an island continent known as Holuan. All characters are part of the mysterious Order of Galchobhar. In exchange for something they desperately needed, each and every one of them took the oath to follow Galchobhar unto their deaths. Are you ready to take the oath?

The Dark Era RPG

The DARK ERA

GAME NOW OPEN

We have pre-mades with existing connections in game. Original Character Welcome.

Late in the Victorian era,the tightly held beliefs started to crack by the perfunctorily of moral disillusion. Anything that could get under and let loose the suffocating principles became a welcome, yet often, secret delight. This was the era of peace, of success, of industry and dark perversions. This, the Dark Era, where magic and mystery were cherished, celebrated and even respected becomes our stage for apocalyptic creativity.

It's time to face the darkness.

Containment

The histories stop in the 21st century. The cataclysm should have ended the world. The lands were ravaged, the waters corrupted, the air toxic. Humanity refused to die. They adapted, as their ancestors had countless times in the past.

Two hundred years ago, an event known only as the cataclysm wiped out the majority of the world's population. It caused changes in the environment, in flora and fauna. The world itself seemed to turn on humanity, until humanity itself changed. Mutated. Developed powers and abilities to allow them to live in the transformed world. Survivors banded together and realized they could be their own salvation. They formed a community, their own safe haven, and began the long process of rebuilding.

The year is now 2215, and the city of Haven is standing strong. The Council sees to all. The Council will keep you safe. The Council knows what's best.

The Lost and Found

Supernaturals are in every dark corner of the world.

The world is filled with so many types of people, it seems near impossible to keep track of all of them. But that is what "They" do. It's unclear when "They" started, how "They" became so organized, but as long as anyone can remember, "They" have been there in the shadows, watching. Few people know who "They" really are, what "They" are called, but their purpose is well known throughout supernaturals; "They" keep you safe. Safe from the humans, safe from other supernatural species.

Sometimes, safe from yourself.

This is where L'académie des Objets Trouvés comes in. Affectionately called The Lost and Found, it is a school where adolescent supernaturals are taught to hone their skills, hide their telling physical attributes, and adapt to living in the world of the humans. Only .03% of the world population are supernatural, and it is only through the close monitoring and assimilation strategies of schools like this that they have continued to thrive undetected.

The Lost and Found is a supernatural school with a complicated history and an easy premise. Players can play as students or teachers, and can choose from a variety of supernatural races (or suggest their own!). Occasional school wide plots ranging from creepy to silly help keep things lively, and players always have input. Students are between the ages of 16-19, and players must be 18+ (due to mature content).

It's just like any other boarding school- grades, tests, dances, rumors, crushes, roommates, and bad cafeteria food. The only difference is here, your teacher really is a demon. Well... there is one additional difference, just a small, minor catch.

You're not allowed to leave until "They" decide you're ready.
