Pack it up
Who: Kaia and Liona
Where: The villa
When: Around midday
Kaia had refused - well, 'refused', politely, calmly and subversively - to handle the brew tasting that was supposed to be going on today. Yesterday's little stall had been good enough for her, and she would rather stay inside today, well inside - away from the people. Eventually, however, not even yet midday, the ale was running low outside and Kaia was sent to bring more to the barmaid offering samples. As she made her way down the steps muttering about freeloaders the woman had found herself surrounded by children with painted faces, one of them brandishing a roll of parchment. Kaia hadn't needed to listen to them to know who this was from, neither did she watch them leave, merely knowing that when she next looked down they had gone. Having read the message quickly she refilled the samples and went back inside to tell her boss that she needed the day for Order business.
As usual, there hadn't been a problem. Not too long after, Kaia found herself at the villa preparing herself and her things, arranging for a horse, and making a list of things she needed to purchase later in the day. For right now, she found herself outside in the courtyard taking care of her traveling clothes - a little thicker than her usual ones: thin skin pants and a light leather cuirass that was more like a corset than anything else. Armor was good, but overheating on the way to a job was not.
"Boots, boots, new boots..." She murmured under her breath, looking around. "Anyone here know of a shoemaker that can fix me a pair of boots for tonight at the latest?" Otherwise she was going to have to bring her old ones which were, well, old. As balls. Barely there anymore. Off the corner of her eye she saw a blonde figure pass by. The one priestess of Kijas whose presence actually demanded respect out of Kaia, and she had no idea why to this day.
"Liona." She greeted. "Know a shoemaker who works fast?"

TIME UPDATE
Wednesday, June 3nd
Weather: Things are slightly overcast today, hinting that there may be rain in the future.
Events: Once again, different districts are celebrating in their own ways. Today in Ravenspeak, many of the district's taverns are offering brew tastings to try and entice people inside.
Missions: Several characters will get a summons for a mission today. The summons comes via a few small children with painted faces, none of whom seem to know anything other than 'the man said to give this to you!' At which point they will hand over a roll of parchment and run off.
The information given is rather basic. All trade caravans headed for the village of Redacre have gone missing, and there has been no contact with said village for a couple of days. People heading there don't seem to be coming back, so something's definitely up. Those given a summons are instructed to spend the day preparing for travel, and meet at the manor at dawn tomorrow to go investigate. Redacre is about a day's travel west.
MOD NOTE: Each player is allowed to sign up one character for this mission, but you must opt in within 24 hours of this post. If opting in, please be sure that you'll be available for plotting and scening with the rest of the group for the next 3-4 weeks. Thank you!

Eirys and Liona - Pet Shopping

Where: A little stall outside the tavern where Kaia works in Ravenpeak!
When: Early evening
The second day of festivities was in full swing by the time Kaia was sent to switch places with the other barmaid outside. It was still hot, but by now hotter in the tavern than outside behind the drinks stall their boss had made them set-up for the festival. A very last minute endeavor, one Kaia had only discovered was happening when she had come back to the tavern yesterday noon, after her little squid and sweet ice escapade.
Kaia didn't know how to be thankful properly, but she sure had been thankful to the tavern owner for sending her outside as the sun got lower and weaker. Not as thankful when she realized the amount of traffic their particular street was getting, and the amount of drinks she had been serving. Unbeknownst to her, standing in the same relative place taking bottles and pouring wine and mead was harder than doing it and walking around serving said drinks. Movement made the air flow around her, sometimes it helped with keeping her temperature down. And her feet didn't hurt so much.
There was supposed to be a big event at the castle tonight, something about nobility from all over the place arriving for the festivities, and everyone and their dog seemed extremely interested in seeing the ships dock. Wherefore, Kaia had no idea, but some people stopping by her stall sounded genuinely excited as they described the sightings. Kaia tried hard not to roll her eyes at the excited chatter as she served the drinks. Once in a while, hoping no one was looking, Kaia went under the stall to sneak herself a drink, chilling it with her own hands first.
By the tenth time she had done this, Kaia stumbled back a bit when getting back up. Oops. Good thing she had the stall all to herself and everyone was too busy inside.
"Welcome to-" Kaia paused, blowing a loose strand of hair off her forehead. "-the finest stall outside the finest tavern in Ravenpeak. We have red and white wine, several kinds of mead and even something fruity and fresh for these hot days. What can I fix for you?"

Events: The festivities continue through-out town, much the same as yesterday. There is some gossip and chatter about foreign royalty and nobility arriving today, and many are gathering near the harbors to watch the strange and magnificent ships come in to dock. There is a grand welcoming party at the castle today, with all members of court invited.
Missions: None today!

Weather: It's a beautiful spring day. Warm temperatures, pleasant breezes, and hardly a cloud in the sky.
Events: Today marks the first day of a week-long festival in honor of Prince Edon's birthday. All week long the city is full of celebration, with the various districts honoring the festivities in their own way. Many fine foreign merchants are selling their wares in a bazaar along the ports, and musicians and dancing troupes can be found on just about every corner in the center of the city, nearest the royal keep. In Ravenspeak, flowers are everywhere, and many establishments have set up places outside their doors for passers-by to sample their wares. People are buzzing about the tourney and joust coming up on the fifth.
Missions: None today!
