In a society where vampires are officially 'out of the casket' and a part of our culture we have nothing more to fear! Vampires and humans are living--we use that term loosely--alongside each other with little political or physical argument, right? Wrong. Our world is still struggling to adapt to the idea that vampires are real, that corpses who gain their lifesource from blood walk among us and have been a part of our world in secret for centuries. Honesty is better late than never though, and even if not everyone agrees, the world is trying to move on and accept our vampire friends! Over the last couple of years Bon Temps has had it's own hardships, but things have recently started to quiet down. If you can consider the recent uprising of V addiction and unexplained deaths quiet, and in Bon Temps we do. While Sookie looks into the sudden disappearance of Bill Compton, and Sam Merlotte attempts to find his family in neighboring states, the rest of the town has their own problems. Local law enforcement is most recently stumped by a mysterious serial killer who seems to collect bones from his victims, leaving the rest of them there for police to find while keeping the missing pieces to themselves. Or itself. So far the targets are all human, but this is always subject to change in a world where monsters walk among us as equals!
