Project Noir, an initiative of the international cult Esset, is working diligently to create a team of superpowered humans and to use their powers to gain control over the world. From obscure books of Tibetan lore to the dark secrets of the Mayan calendar, Esset will use every opportunity to succeed.

The Kritiker Organization is all that is standing in their way.

Human intelligence and human assassins against powers that are incomprehensible and will stop at nothing to get what they want. Assassinations, lies, deceit and experimentation, all happening just underneath the everyday surface of the world.

Would you choose power over everything, or would you bloody your hands with murder to protect the innocent?

VACANT. With more than his share of health problems and an overprotective father, Endymion has always been kept isolated. He’s spent more time looking out his window at the stars than he has being around people, and he’s finally had enough of experiencing life through a telescope. He’s recently walked out his front door and purchased one ticket to Disneyland, a familiar sight from his window, and he’s using his ability to hide in the attractions after the park has closed each night. That means hiding from the tenacious Selene, however, which is turning out to be harder than expected.radar.

VACANT. A pyrotechnics wizkid, Pele has always had a flare for fire and a quick, hot personality to match. She’s deliberate about her work, however, and she always puts a lot of time and care into the dangerous effects she creates. After a recent accident involving both Lono and, secretly, Hi’iaka, she’s earned a lot of sideways glances and her job is definitely on the line.

Premise:
There is an apartment building in California called 'Pax Letale.' Most people ignore its auspicious name, though they would be advised to pay more attention to its meaning.

It is a strange building.

Every man, woman and child in the building is a reincarnated myth, the stories told to humans for hundreds, sometimes thousands of years. Once very real, the myths began to fade as science and reason dispelled the probability of their existence. They have all been reborn in human forms, though their essence remains, waiting to be awakened at the right time, in the right place.

Now is the time - Pax Letale is the place. As their lives connect and weave together, as they follow their petty desires and long-held grudges, they are, all of them, on the brink of disaster. Their Landlord knows their every move, and the building they live in seems to have an agenda of its own. People are tortured, people die, people plot behind each other's backs and sneak around and cheat. They love, they fight, they draw blood. .

You can’t remember how you heard of this place, yet, here you are. You can remember where you came from. Maybe you’ve come to escape. Maybe you’re running from your past, your enemies, your friends, or maybe even yourself. Maybe you just want a new chance, a new life, a change of pace. Maybe you didn’t come for yourself. You came for your family, for your significant other. Maybe you came to find someone you have lost.

Maybe you didn’t come here on your own at all, and someone else brought you here. Perhaps for your own good, or maybe just to get rid of you. Maybe they want to try and change you, for better or worse. Maybe you came from a different time, place, or existence, and when the offer was given to come here, you couldn’t say no. Perhaps you were given a new lease on life, literally, a chance to do it all again. To do it all right.
