Val is a Duke of Hell, a sort of demonic patron of thieves and (to her perpetual resentment) a periodic sorcerer's familiar who takes deep pleasure in fucking with her masters, leading them into a seemingly profitable life of crime and abandoning them at the gallows. Girl's gotta get her kicks somehow.

Anyway, she loves friends! And by loves, I mean breaks into their apartments and buys them unwanted novelty purchases using their own Amazon accounts. She's such a pal!

Jess here bringing in the Moirae, better known as the Fates! Greek goddesses of destiny, they govern the threads of all mortal and immortal lives, Clotho spinning each one into existence, Lachesis measuring and Atropos cutting them short at the time of death. They own a second-hand shop in Brooklyn filled with all sorts of curios; it's the kind of place where you're more likely than not to make a fortuitous discovery you weren't even looking for.

(PS, Clotho has a daughter and possibly an adult grandchild out in the world that she's never met, if the idea of a prophetic demigod character tickles anyone's fancy!)

Edit - details, for the interested! Clotho had a daughter in 1973, during the period she was estranged from Lachesis and Atropos. She panicked and gave the child up for adoption at birth, and she's never so much as seen her since, though she knows the shape of her life-thread intimately. (So do the other two Fates, though she's never spoken about it with them.) The daughter (now aged 47, potentially with a child aged early 20s) doesn't know about her divine parentage, though she and her child have inherited a talent for prophecy that might lead them to cross paths with godly types in the future (i.e. if anyone feels like playing them!).

She's the Shinto goddess of dawn, mirth, meditation, revelry, entertainers and the arts, aka one hell of a good time. She is best known for saving the world from eternal night by convincing the temperamental sun goddess to come out of hiding with a strip tease. She's innovative like that! Right now she owns a dance studio in Brooklyn and she's big into body positivity, encouraging students to connect with and find joy in their own bodies.

Hello, me again! This is Alexa Vasquez, a homicide detective who has absolutely no idea that the father she's never met is the Greek god Ares. Or, y'know, that the Greek gods are anything more than some old stories. At some stage I expect she may be in for a brain-explody discovery or two.

If anybody's interested in plotting or establishing some backstory with her, just let me know. (And, just throwing this one out there, but if anybody felt like playing a cop - mortal or immortal - Alexa is in need of a partner! :D)

Hey all, Jess again, bringing in two more characters!

Momus is the Greek personification of mockery, blame, ridicule, scorn, complaint and stinging criticism, so as you can imagine he's a pleasant fellow. Once upon a time, he was booted off Olympus after he made the mistake of criticising Zeus's womanising and general dickery and, well, his opinion of other gods hasn't improved much since then. His favourite pastimes include arguing, yelling at cable news and alcohol. So, basically, fun guy to be around.

Cloacina is the Roman goddess of the sewer, a patron of sanitation and purity, and a protector of sexual intercourse in marriage. In the days of ancient Rome, she was an honoured goddess - her image was inscribed in coins, she even had a shrine in the Forum and her name was associated with Venus. These days she's a mythological footnote, almost entirely forgotten, and very bitter about it. She lives in Manhattan's sewers, hanging out with the sewer alligators and (in her own grudging way) watching over the homeless people who live on the city's underside.

Also! I'm working on a mortal character; she's a homicide cop and I've got kind of an idea of her father (who she never knew; her mother got knocked up at nineteen and she was raised by her mum and grandparents) being a god. She'd have no clue about this and finding out would be sure to mess with her head something huge. Anybody want to be the baby daddy? :D

Hi all, just wanted to apologise for the lack of activity from my end! RL's been a little busy this past week or so. BUT I should have a lot more free time from next week for RPing (and hopefully working on a couple of apps!), so if anybody feels like doing stuff with Penny or Blodeuwedd, just let me know. :)
