And just what is this supposed to be? Did everyone get one or do I have a secret admirer?

[Spike received some mail tonight and a drawing of a cat head didn't exactly make the sender clear to him. He might have had a guess if he knew the Kittys better, but he'd be wrong.]

[It's been far too quiet for Q's liking. That one fellow with the green hair had everyone in a tizzy when he told them they were virgins. Well, if they like sex so much...]

Who wants to have prison sex?

[After listening to over the communicator for a while, she decides it might be time to say something. She can't stand feeling alone, and talking to people always made her feel better. If you knew her, this would be a lot more subdued than she normally sounds.]

Um, hello? My name’s Rinoa. I just arrived today so, I thought I’d better introduce myself! I’ve been listening for a little while now and, a lot of you sound so nice, which -- I guess I wasn't expecting. Though, I guess this does seem more like a Garden than a prison...

Oh - thank you for the welcome basket! It was really helpful. Especially the pamphlet, I‘d have been - er [slightly nervous laugh]- a bit lost without it.

[Rei hadn't come home last night.]

[She hadn't responded to any filtered calls, either.]

[She wasn't in the hospital, or her LCL tank.]

[He didn't want to admit that it was possible, but... he checks the list posted outside sector 0, anyway.]

[Upon reading her name listed, Tsukasa slides down against the wall, burying his head in his knees, starting to cry. He doesn't care who hears him, or how stupidly early it is.]

Hikaru! I must talk to you about something!

We will be starting a Host Club here, and until the others arrive we will need more members. I want you to be on a look out for potential members and direct them to me immediately!

[ Chuck's standing in front of a table. On the table are three boxes. In the first box, there are bags with paintball "markers" (guns) and ammunition. In the second box are goggles. On the third, there are thinly padded helmets and chest pieces, all in black. Chuck is wearing all the gear, but his headgear has a little white flag attached to it. ]

Okay! [ Very excited. Sort of looks like a spaniel puppy who has to go to the bathroom. ] Thanks, everybody, for coming out. [ Waves! ]

I'm Chuck, and I'm going to be your ref. Behind me -- [ Indicates the fields behind him that are littered with hay bales of various sizes and heights. Both fields have been set up into one large play area. ] -- is our game field. The boundaries are the white lines along the perimeter. If anyone just wants to watch, they can sit in the bleachers.

[ Rubs his hands together. Sort of nervous now, but hey, still soldiering on. ]

Here's how we're going to do this. Everybody get in line and come up. You give me your name, I'll put it down and then I'll give you your marker and ammo, and you can pick out your gear. Everybody has to wear the headgear and goggles. The chest piece is optional. Once everybody has their stuff, we'll play.

I just have a few rules. First, no head or face shots. I mean it. [ Srs face. ] Second, no shooting someone more than once per encounter. And third, no attacking with anything other than a paintball. The markers can't be modified, and you can't hit someone with your marker.

I've got white paint. I'm the only person. If I see you someone breaking a rule, they're going to get hit with white paint. That person has to sit out on the bleachers for ten minutes. If I catch them more than once, they can't play anymore. Also... no shooting the ref.

No teams, and we'll count the hits at the end of the hour. Whoever wins gets... ah... the pleasure of bragging rights. [ Ehehehe. ] After, party at the club.

Okay, let's go!

((ooc: Event style tagging under the headers. Threadjacks are encouraged. People can skip the sign-up process and/or mingle pre-game, or just go straight to playing. More details here. :D))

[There's a marvelously radiant, happy man on the camera for anyone who is watching.]

[Ahh...No weird things happening, paintball... That's cause for celebration in his book. And it's made all the better by the fact that his darling daughter isn't quite as sad as she was a few days ago. Kaien himself was cheering up a little too...but his stomach still ached a little, not that that showed at all on the outside.]

Today is a fantastic day...does anyone agree with me?

[ Jeanne opens up with a big pout. ] Ladies, I have some sad news. It looks like Acumen thinks that having a dedicated spa facility is "redundant". [ Further dejected, now. ] I'm sorry, I tried my best.

[ Brightening up a bit. ] But! I think the event was a huge success, and I think it's a great relaxing and bonding experience. You can count on there being more nights like that! Please let me know if there's anything you want special for next time. Maybe we could have a theme, or even some music? Just let me know!

[ Now she's waving to the camera. She looks a tad more nervous, but that's just because this is serious business... sort of. ]

Good morning, everyone! I hope you're all having a good day so far.

I have a question... I know the school has some language courses -- and I think those are a neat idea, don't get me wrong -- but does anyone else think a course on sign language would be kind of neat? [ Holding up some video discs. ] I found a bunch of these in the education center, and I was thinking it might be good to have some basic knowledge of that sort so that those of us who don't speak different languages can still kind of understand one another. You know, in case we lose or break our headsets, or something.

What do you all think?

[ Close to sunset, Touma was back on the streets, wandering. It's not to clear his head, but rather to fill it. Anything except the inevitable destructive end of this place, or the emptiness left behind in the places that once were filled with... Well, if he knew what was in the burned out recesses of his mind, he wouldn't be moving around so aimlessly.

There was a small limp in his step, but it was still easier to walk than before. Has he always healed this fast? That frog-faced doctor might have known, but even facts about what his own body and his own mind were capable of were now lost to Touma.

He wanted to ask Acumen a question, but he couldn't come to terms with the possibility that he didn't want the answer.

Before it gets too dark, he should really get back into the Shelter. What if those things came back?

He stopped in front of the doors to the movie theater, its bright lights and colorful posters catching his eye. Maybe Asuka was right. Maybe he just needs to find something to do. ]

Wow... Just wow. That's all I can really say about that. Don't think I could even get names down if I tried... Wonder if those guys will work things about better than some of us still here.

[Probably not but hear the sound of clapping.]

Okay, I say no more talking about it. Good or bad, can't change it now. Gotta keep just moving forward, am I right?

So I wanna hear everyone give one reason to be happy today, okay?

[It had been a long day yesterday and Lacus hadn't taken much time to eat well, having prioritized the time with Kira -- he had such a heavy burden to carry. And so did Neil, as was made all too clear last night.]

[Today is a day for remedying such matters, and she's started with two things: a picnic of fresh fruit and breakfast foods in the park, and confiscating Neil's communicator until he was in better shape to talk. That does not mean, however, that she isn't going to try and help. Before she enjoys her breakfast, she makes a series of calls to the relevant parties:]

[Private respectively to Lyle Dylandy, Klaus Grado, Tieria Erde, Setsuna Seie, and Euphemia li Britannia:]

Good morning! If you have a few moments, could we speak?

[Seemingly unperturbed by her situation, a little girl with dark blond pigtails has decided to make the best of things and can be found drawing in chalk on one of the walkways. She's humming to herself and doesn't seem to have a communicator. What was that funny thing? Oh well... leaving it behind. Around her are strange circle designs that, if you know Alphonse or Fletcher, might be recognizable. They don't do anything, as she's just emulating her big "brothers".]

[Although not particularly imposing standing at three feet and looking something like a human child complete with her blonde hair in pigtails, this woman stands with a proud expression on her face. She looks towards the camera before beginning her speech.]

Really quite unexpected, this glass dome under the ocean;
though really, not at all a fresh or new notion.
But an alternate Vana'diel with Windurst so far beneath the waves?
Had some total loser adventurers told me of this, I might have thought them simply to be knaves.

Still, I cannot help but say, this fresh device is quite a treat,
even if I might say it is a bit incomplete.
Transmitting images as well as words,
and at a rate far quicker than those chocobo birds.
A linkpearl and gazing crystal in one;
you've really outdone yourself, someone.

But if you're to please your empress-to-be,
Might I suggest that you ought to bend your knee?
Take the novice Koru-Moru's magic dolls' lesson to heart,
and build in an enemy detector (though without its annoying voice); then society might agree you to be a bit smart.

Still, I suppose not all can have my beauty or my brilliance.
But every living creature must learn to have at least some resilience.
As such, citizens of this place, feel free to pledge yourselves to my domain.
Such a rather dull place here; no need for it to stay so mundane.

As such I will benignly accept any into submission.
Those recording for posterity, make sure to have no omission:
The Shantotto Empire, here I found on this day,
Now, shall we get this campaign on the way?

O~hohohoho!

[The camera feed flickers on to reveal a young blonde woman, seated facing away from a lightly cluttered desk towards the camera.]

Good morning, everyone! Since there are a lot of new people here, I thought maybe I could make an announcement. To those who don't know me, I'm Winry Rockbell, and I'm an automail engineer from Rockbell Automail.

For those who don't know, automail is the name of advanced mechanical prosthetics on my world, which attach directly to the body's nerves and can be controlled as if it's a regular limb. It's really similar to the idea of cybernetics that some worlds have, that is robotic prosthetics.

[She holds up a metallic arm and leg, her "samples" that are almost identical to the cold-weather automail she made for Ed up in Briggs.]

If anyone who has a similar kind of prosthesis, it's likely I'd be able to do maintenance on it or even possibly upgrade it, if needed. [Or pick up some ideas from foreign technology, but she's not mentioning that.] And if anyone is in the need of any new prostheses, we may be able to arrange with Acumen for the surgery required.

In any case, feel free to contact me and we'll be able to figure out something!

The past few days has certainly been stressful, hasn't it?

If you want, you can come to my house! I can make tea and snacks... [And refrain from putting secret ingredients in them.] I'm sure my housemates...mate...won't mind, so please! Come on over!

...A prison?

[The girl who's managed to turn on the communicator is tiny, and seems a bit dazed. There are faint smudges on her communicator--it seems like she originally had it on over her eyepatch, which is really a bit silly.]

...Excuse me...is anyone named 'Rokudo Mukuro' here...?

[If it's a prison, it's worth looking, even if she can't sense him, right?]
