The book is The Princess Bride, and even though it’s not about Uncle Harry and Uncle Severus at all, Hugo would be a fool if he didn’t see the oh-so-obvious parallels. Fortunately, in the end, Uncle Harry arrives just in time to set the record straight and tell the real story.
A/N: Thank-you to rycolfan for the pre-read and encouragement, and for the additional ideas and story parallels. This was such a fun story to write, and while I know it requires a familiarity with The Princess Bride, I trust quite a few of you will have that. And if you don’t, what are you waiting for?

Sign-ups begin Monday, June 16!

Whether you're having a barbecue, sitting poolside, or slaving away in your office today, we wanted to take a moment to mention that we have two different events planned at snape_potter over the summer.

Our autumn fest, The Road Not Taken, will focus on any manner of AU/AR creations with sign-ups in mid-June, entries due in mid-August, and posting beginning on Sept 15. The Snarry Summer Challenge is a self-posting, mini-fest that will be held during the month of July closing out on the 31st, Harry's birthday.

Details for both of these (as well as fantastic banners!) will be coming in the next week or two so you can plan your summer holidays accordingly. ;)

We hope you'll join us!

This year, we hope to have a fest that will meet everyone's Snarry needs. We will be hosting three fests at snape_potter: Snarry-a-Thon14, The Road Not Taken AR/AU fest, Secret Snarry Swap and one challenge.

For those who like to work from prompts with no limitations on length, there is Snarry-a-Thon14, for those who like an Exchange fest or bite-sized entries during the busy end of the year holidays, there is Secret Snarry Swap, and for those who like to pick up spur-of the moment challenges, there will be our annual summer challenge in July before we slide into Fall and our revolving themed fest, The Road Not Taken AR/AU fest.

The first fest of the new year will be the 6th annual Snarry-a-Thon. Prompt-based and anything goes, our signature fest begins posting April 14th.

The summer months are always a bit slow and we want to perk things up a bit with a challenge. Details will be announced closer to the date, but you can be sure Severus and Harry will be involved somehow. *g*

Since our Autumn fest has a revolving theme, this year the theme for the Autumn fest will be The Road Not Taken AR/AU fest. Magical, non-magical, take any point in canon (including the epilogue!) and deviate from that or use an entirely different setting or time period for our favorite boys entirely. If you can imagine it, we want to read (or view) it!

Our final fest will be Secret Snarry Swap with a participant poll and details to come closer to sign-ups.
