Secret Snarry Swap is an anonymous fic and art fest hosted by snape_potter. All entries will be cross-posted directly to snape_potter on LJ, IJ, and DW and at AO3.

The challenge will run from July 10th through the 31st. From drabbles and drawbles to novellas and oil paintings, anything featuring Severus/Harry is welcome!

We do have a few prompt ideas to get you started:

♥Create a birthday card from Severus to Harry.
♥Harry's perfect birthday.
♥A summer holiday getaway (or staycation) for Harry and Severus.
♥Birthdays through the years. 25, 50, 75, 100, or even 125!

•There's no minimum word count and the standard comm rules apply. All underage creations as well as any NC-17 art must be locked.

•Your entry does not need to use any of the prompts. They are there merely as suggestions to get you started. The birthday theme does not have to be the most important facet of the piece.

•All entries should be posted to one (or all) of the snape_potter communities rather than just linking to your own journal or AO3. You may repost your entry at the end of the challenge.

•There will be a wrap-up at the halfway point of July 21st and the master list will be posted on August 2nd.

•Please use the birthday2017 tag to make sure we get your entry on the master list.

Simple enough? Let's make this a very Snarry birthday party!

Regarding the recent technical difficulties that IJ has suffered....

If you are a member of snape_potter on IJ but cannot see this post, comment to this entry.

We will need to remove your membership and then invite you back again. You can also remove yourself and reapply for membership but it's easier on our end if we already know you were a member.

This will be important, particularly during fests, which often have locked entries. However, as your mods discovered yesterday, if you are a posting member, the comm will allow you to post a locked entry but even you will not be able to see it afterward.

We will try to remind people about this periodically, especially before/during fests.

Since IJ's recent extended downtime, personal journals and many communities have had issues.

For your personal journal, you should double-check any filters you have as they may not have remained the same.

Here at snape_potter, there has been an issue with adding tags. The settings have been modified and, hopefully, that's corrected. If you have any other problems, let us know via comment here or email to spfestmod at gmail dot com.

Snarry-a-Thon is an anonymous, prompt-based fic and art fest hosted at snape_potter and posting at AO3 as well as LJ, IJ,and DW. This fest is all about having fun with our favorite pairing and celebrating the enduring love we have for these two men and they have for each other. Posting will begin on May 1, 2017. The Call for Prompts for the Ninth Edition of Snarry-a-Thon begins tomorrow, January 26!

This year we hope to have a fest that will meet everyone's Snarry needs. We will be hosting two fests at snape_potter: Snarry-a-Thon17 and Secret Snarry Swap and a comment fest for Harry's birthday.

For those who like to work from anything goes prompts, there is Snarry-a-Thon17, for those who like to warm up with Snarry during the busy end of the year holidays, there is Secret Snarry Swap, and for those who like spur of the moment comment fests, we'll celebrate Harry's birthday in style in July!

The first full fest of the year will be the 9th annual Snarry-a-Thon. Prompt-based and anything goes, our signature fest begins posting May 1st.

The summer months are always a bit slow and we'll perk things up a bit with Harry's birthday party comment fest!

Our final fest will be December's Secret Snarry Swap with details to come closer to sign-ups.

The format for our Halloween Mini-Fest is simple:

Beginning Monday, October 17th, you may leave up to seven autumn/Halloween prompts. They can be spooky, romantic, humourous, angsty, etc. As long as the main pairing is Severus/Harry, anything goes!

There will be no claiming of prompts. Creators can begin writing or drawing immediately. Prompts may be filled multiple times.

All entires will be self-posted to snape_potter. If anyone needs help or would like the mods to post for you, don't hesitate to ask.

Posting will continue through All Soul's Day, November 2nd, and the master list will post on November 4th.

Further details as well as both the prompting and posting templates will go up on October 17!

In light of the release of Cursed Child, if you use any information from the play or transcript, please indicate this on the warning line of your header.

We will remind everyone on mod posts (for fests, etc) until the end of the year. After that, while you may wish to continue doing so as a courtesy to your readers, it won't be required.

I wanted to say thank you to those who've made donations to Walking the Plank since our announcement last week. It'll be a good year before we bother you again. *g*

That said, the donate button at WTP is working again and we won't say no to anyone who would still like to contribute. ;)

alisanne, perverse_idyll, writcraft and myself, torino10154, have the great privilege and honor to announce that we are Walking the Plank's new team of administrators.

Our primary purpose is to preserve the amazing Snarry that is archived there. We also plan to clear the queue of entries waiting for approval and make it possible for creators to upload their new works as well.

Maintaining an archive is not without cost and, just like your local PBS affiliate, we do need to fundraise. If you have $10, $5, or even $1 to spare, every little bit counts. Obviously larger donations are greatly appreciated. :D

At the request of the author, Telanu, Walking the Plank will be removing the Tea Series as well as her other works from the archive. She has graciously allowed the Snarry community one week to save any of her fics that are currently archived there with the explicit directive that they not be reposted in whole or in part, with her name or without, on the internet. These would be for readers personal use only.

You can find her works here.

You have until midnight Pacific time on April 9th, to save these before they are removed from the archive permanently.

From February 8-21 we'll celebrate Valentine's Day with Severus and Harry!

The rules for this comment fest are fairly simple but there are some important ones. Please read closely.

•The primary pairing must be Severus/Harry as per our community rules.
•Fic and art are welcome. Drabbles, drawbles, ficlets, etc. from 100 words on up.
•You may leave as many prompts as you like but leave just one per comment.
•Prompts should focus on Valentine's Day but can be anything from fluffy to dark, romantic to kinky.
•Any rating is welcome.
•Creators should reply directly to the prompt comment they are filling.
•Prompts may be filled more than once.
•Use appropriate warnings when necessary.

Deviations from our usual fest rules:
•All prompts/fills will be on LJ only. Comment fests work best when all activity is in one place. We will allow anonymous comments or you can log in with OpenID from IJ and DW.
•No chan or any NC-17 art will be permitted for this fest only because then the entire entry would need to be locked, diminishing the number of people able to participate.

If you have questions or comments don't hesitate to ask. This is something new for us so we may not have worked out all the kinks. ;)

The festivities begin Feb 8th!

This year we hope to have a fest that will meet everyone's Snarry needs. We will be hosting two fests at snape_potter: Snarry-a-Thon16 and Secret Snarry Swap and three different challenges.

For those who like to work from anything goes prompts, there is Snarry-a-Thon16, for those who like to warm up with Snarry during the busy end of the year holidays, there is Secret Snarry Swap, and for those who like to pick up spur-of the moment challenges, there will be our annual summer challenge and two new challenges: a Valentine's Day comment-fest and a Halloween self-posting fest!

Our Valentine's Day challenge will be a comment-fest that will run for a week to either side of February 14th.

The first full fest of the year will be the 8th annual Snarry-a-Thon. Prompt-based and anything goes, our signature fest begins posting May 2nd.

The summer months are always a bit slow and we want to perk things up a bit with our July challenge. The Halloween challenge will run for two weeks at the end of October. Details will be announced closer to the dates, but you can be sure Severus and Harry will be involved somehow. *g*

The "Odd Jobs" Fest is an anonymous, one-shot, fic and art fest hosted at snape_potter on LJ, IJ, and DW in which you'll be tasked with creating a new and possibly unusual job for Severus and Harry! Wand maker to professional pianist, herbologist to aerobics instructor. There are only a select few occupations which are forbidden. For Severus they are Magical or Muggle Professor, Spy/double agent, Apothecary owner, Unspeakable. For Harry they are Auror or police officer, Quidditch player, DADA professor and Curse-breaker.

We will be collecting career suggestions in a separate post so put on your thinking caps!

Sign-ups begin Monday, June 15!

Posting for the 7th annual Snarry-a-Thon begins on Monday, April 20th!

Authors and artists have been working hard to create the wonderful entries we have this year. As always, we believe there is something for everyone.

We do have an extra special announcement to make today as well! snape_potter is thrilled to welcome lilyseyes to the mod team!

lilyseyes is no stranger to the comm, participating in our fests as well as posting her drabbles here regularly, and seemed the perfect choice to help promote the pairing that we all love. Take a moment to give her a warm welcome or say hello if you "see" her!

Since our Autumn fest has a revolving theme, this year the theme for the Autumn fest will be Odd Jobs Career Change fest. Tired of Harry as an Auror? Wonder how Severus would fare as a traveling salesman? This fest gives you the opportunity to break the boys out of their traditional careers and try something new. If you can imagine it, we want to read (or view) it!

Our final fest will be Secret Snarry Swap with details to come closer to sign-ups.
