A/N: Not a fan of canon's version of the final battle against Voldemort, I have always wanted to paint a different outcome (with a Snarry spin, naturally). Voldemort is still dead at Harry's hand, but instead of an immediate celebration I can envision Harry following that moment in another way. Overcome by the act he was destined to commit, surrounded by the deaths that have occurred that night and in disbelief that he and Severus survived the final encounter with Voldemort...together...he slumps to the ground overwhelmed with emotion, Severus holding him tight. Of course, Severus took care of that damn snake earlier. *g* Thank you to my accomplices accioslash and leela_cat on this piece - you were terrific sounding boards and gave me some wonderful ideas to work with and incorporate into this piece.
