When: 3:49pm.
Rating: R; violence!
Not a single cloud lingered upon the horizon, boats rocked gently in the port as they had been tied to the docks and their anchors had been dropped. Jokes came easy amongst the ship hands and dock workers, the day had been going smoothly with cargo loading, ships setting sail and coming into port. The sun was bright in the sky but a cool breeze made the temperature nearly perfect for the type of work engaged in. The dock master's whistle blew, helping to herald the coming of the next ship to dock. It was a grand vessel, looming in size and it's many levels held an abundance of cargo. The ships mast, a pure white, billowed far above the body of the ship, a caster slinging wind spells helped to control the speed of the vessel and the dock workers hurried to and fro, beginning to prepare for the ships arrival. As people peppered the docks in anticipation, what happened next would draw all work to an end. Those on the look out for the ship would see a huge tail emerge from the water and gaze with horror as the monstrous tail crashed into the ship, splintering the boards and sending hunks of wood flying as if the entire side of the ship was nothing. Those not looking would hear the thunderous crack and the loud noise of wood bending then breaking would rattle through their heads. The next noise would be that of a monstrous roar emanating from below water before a long, almost snake like creature would arise from the grand watery depths of the port, flying into the sky with a shriek before turning it's body around in mid-air to dive back down into the water with teeth bared. Those who had been thrown from the sinking ship, if not knocked unconscious and left to sink into a watery grave attempted desperately to grab ahold of something which would not be pulled into the downward suction of the creature's dive into the water. While no words could be made out, the tones of screams and yelling can be made out through the thrashing water and breaking wood. Some have clung to destroyed planks of wood, desperately trying not to get sucked into the undertow of whatever the beast has planned next but others aren't so lucky. While time may feel like it has slowed with the horror playing against the onlookers eyes and ears, everything has occurred in second and quickly the dock master begins to bellow orders. "Get the guards! Alert the EKP! Those men need help!" Quickly, everyone begins to scramble, one person runs off to alert the guard while those with magic prepare spells and those with ranged weaponry begin loading, hoping to damage the beast on it's next ascent into the air. One particularly brave, or perhaps stupid, ship captain begins preparing her boat to sail into the chaos that's occurring while yelling that she's taking passengers brave enough aboard for a free trip to adventure. The glint in her eyes and the laugh that follows are clear indicators that either this woman's either got greater testicular fortitude than anyone that's ever been alive, or perhaps, she really has lost her Faram dammed mind. The waters are turbulent and the even the massive skill displayed by the captain in getting everyone out this far will not stop this boat from rocking. The back of the beast rises before delving deep into the waters again, allowing those quick enough to administer blows to get in what shots they can. However, fast as combat is, and even with the rescue attempts that have been compiled into tactical points of action, only so much can be done before a passenger on the ship catches sight of a sleek blue-green streak of scales beginning to dart away from whatever it had been struggling with currently and toward the docks. More thrashing in the water can be seen from shore, waves roaring up an crashing, against the piers – thankfully this is nothing the wood can’t handle – and stirring any ship in the dock. There’s a violent gush and suddenly up from the water a ways out still, almost as if it’s trying to get away from something deep down below, shoots a huge water serpent, the likes of which, no one has ever seen. ((OOC: Welcome to The Decision Tree. Please reference the OOC post for more information! (I'm a link! Click me!))) The barrage of fire, thunder, bullets, arrows and other ammunition caused the huge water serpent to let out a shriek that might have been considered a roar if it hadn't been so high in pitch. With that final cry, a Tidal Wave would be released upon the docks. However, with the strong repairs, the study ships and even some magical protections that had been worked into the new piers, there would be surprisingly little structural damage. The biggest threat here would be the monsters slamming up against the city walls, and the crushing pressure of waves ramming into those who had been trying to help in, or run from, the fight. Though, as quickly as the wave surfaced, it just as quickly disappeared. The monsters would be lulled for only a brief moment by the receding of the waves, but the peace would be brief before they began to surge up again, this time in a new direction and Leviathan's attention turned. With the creature being significantly pelted, egged on, and agitated, it finally took the bait. Being herded by the barrage of attacks, or perhaps chasing after one of the very few airships and the Dragon Rider as it zipped off to the side, away from the docks, luring the beast after it as a series of explosions, spells and breath attacks seemed to be launched at the beast, from over the railing of the ship or from the Dragon flying above's mouth. And as Leviathan shirked and shifted, so did the monsters below, and then redirected their attentions towards the shore. If they were running away from the massive water dragon, or something else beyond the eyes and ears of man was hard to tell. Before long it would seem like their numbers would end up pounding against the palings around the city, and fleeing into the woods where unknowing Rangers or hunters might be attempting to protect other citizens, or catch supper for this eve. Either way, if it were to pound against the palings that stood in their way, or to flee into a potentially much more dangerous situation, the outcome would not be good. Barely even a minute would pass, just long enough for anyone who could still walk, or more precisely jog and run, to get themselves down to the shore as Leviathan rose directly in front of it, waters surging up around it and monsters beginning to spew forth with even more ferocity. Clearly, the water serpent was ready to take on whatever, or whoever, stood in its way, and those who wished to protect Emillion would be the first line of defense against the beaten, but not backing down, water dragon. Even with some scales askew and damage obvious, it still pressed on with danger in its eyes. |
