Liyal/Merri/Aspel/Ash/Drake/Ari/Nate
Merri admittedly had some trouble keeping up with Aspel because of his foot, but he did his very best to, though by the time they reached the breath he was near out of air. There, he saw for himself what the senior mage had warned him, and he was relieved to see guildmates and others there, fighting the creatures that had come ashore and doing what they could to protect each other and the palings.
After he managed to steady his breathing, he quickly cast Enthunder on Aspel's sword, for surely the tidal wave had extinguished Enfire, and he pulled out a bottle of ether to replenish his mana. That was when he noticed Drake, Ari, and another person, a boy, stumbling from the water's edge.
"Drake! Ari!" he called. "Are you okay?"
The serpent roared, and Merri shifted his focus back to it. Not far from him, Liyal had begun another one of his strange tactics, and the dancer danced again, and it was time for him to do his part. How he wished he knew Thundara, but what he did know would have to do.
He had never tried dualcasting with Fira before; dualcasting with Fire, Aero, and all similar leveled skills had been all he had been able to do when he first learned how, and Fira and Aerora and Watera had, in the past, taken too long for him to conjure up to feel like it had been worth it. But with how often he had been casting Fira lately, it had been coming more and more naturally, and he felt that maybe, just maybe, he could successfully try it this time.
Merri closed his eyes and concentrated, feeling the familiar magick flow through his veins. Then, when he finally had it, he opened his eyes, making careful sure to aim correctly, for he would not get another shot at this today, and he cast both Fira spells at once at the serpent. When it hit and the serpent cried out in pain, a relieved smile teased at the corners of his lips, though he panted; it had taken quite a bit out of him. The battle still was not finished, though, so after taking half a minute to regain himself, he began shooting Thunder spells, making a mental note to get a hold of a scroll or a willing black mage to help him with Thundara later.
