Liyal/Merri/Aspel/Ash/Drake/Ari/Nate
It seemed as though Angel Song had done its job - she saw Merri casting with renewed fervor, and the young man was doing... whatever it was he was doing. It seemed to be doing little more than annoying the beast, but she hoped that as long as they held out a little longer...
She saw Aspel jump in to take a hit for Nate. Because of the armor, she couldn't really tell what state Aspel was in, but the simpler skills seemed to be working better. Despite her smarting fingers, she immediately attempted to maneuver around the chords of Life Song when one of her strings snapped painfully against her hand.
She cursed, but she had known this was going to happen. The instrument hadn't been fit to be played for the last quarter hour; she had just made the mad attempt because...
She had to fight back tears as she swung the mandolin on its strap to her back, nearly getting tangled in the damnable tarp in the process - after a moment, she just tore the stupid thing off, no point in trying to stay dry anymore - and drew her daggers. She ignored the welt on her wrist from the broken string and the weariness in her muscles.
It seemed she would finish this fight the way she had started it.
