Liyal/Merri/Aspel/Ash/Drake/Ari/Nate
Merri was grateful -- and fearful -- for the fighters around him, keeping the monsters who swarmed the beach off of him and the others. He wished he could do more for Aspel and Drake, like a proper Barwater spell or Protect or something, anything, but all he could do now was try to do all that he could to defeat the serpent, and hopefully, all the other creatures would retreat into the water.
He stepped back and took in a deep breath, his eyes briefly going up to the sky to see The Love still in the air. That had to be a good sign, but he refused to see the serpent go after the captain and Peony again. After another deep inhale, feeling the crackle of electricity flow through his staff and at his hands, and he waited until just long enough before the Thunder spells were on the verge of being out of control before he fired them both at the serpent. After seeing the attack land, he staggered back to catch his breath.
A few more of those, he thought, might be enough. Though his fire spells were stronger still, he could not attempt dualcasting Fira again, and dualcasting Thunder seemed to have a better effect. Using his staff to pull himself back up to a proper position, he readied another pair of Thunder spells, this time not waiting for them to reach the brink of control.
