• Unfortunately, as the sinking ship is so far out, there is little to nothing that can be done to stop the ship from sinking. However, helping save passengers, fighting against Leviathan while out on the crazy captain’s boat, maybe corralling an airship to fly out overhead and administer attacks from above/help people out, etc, are up to you guys!
• Leviathan is too big to be stopped by a handful of people however, and is going to tidal wave the docks at least once. This will cause some damage, but thankfully, due to the recent repair efforts, this will not be even a fraction as devastating as the attack a month and change before.
• Leviathan will do a combination of water spell based attacks, physical attacks and every once in a while throw in a tidal wave just to fuck things up make life a little more ~exciting~.
• Due to the amount of water being flung around, most surfaces (wood, ship decks, etc) will be slippery and dangerous in their own manner, this will make footing hard to keep.
• Also, as most of the water being dealt with (splashed around) is salt water, there is the chance that it will sting like a bitch if splashed in people’s eyes/open wounds.
• By the end of the fight, even if you don’t take much damage, it is likely that most characters will be soaking wet unless they implore some sort of alternative to maintain dryness specifically, and keep it in place for the entire fight. Armor and clothing will need to dry and people will need to go get ~warmed up~ at the end. <3
• We are requesting that everyone who already does not have a summon or an esper, but thinks they may like one, for one of their characters, tag in with a number between 1-100 under the appropriate comment thread and please specify which character it is when you select the number (which we will set up) under this post. Please, do not repeat numbers.
• Decision Tree - This is in relation to how the fight will continue, therefore leaving the outcome of some parts completely up to the player base. Depending on how the characters react and what ideas they manage to come up with and impliment during the intial set up of the Leviathan attack, Leviathan will either progress towards the docks, and the fight will come to its full glory there (inevitably causing some significant damage to the docks once again), or if enough plans/action can be taken to push Leviathan away from the docks, the beast will be able to be fought along the shoreline, saving the docks from damage but making the fight harder as characters will be standing in sand, and getting over there will be more difficult as the main combat will be further away from the main exit. We will allow 48hrs from this post for people to tag in appropriately with what efforts their character has in mind that would either pull Leviathan into the docks, or push Leviathan away from the docks/toward the shoreline. If you outline your plans in an IC post, or want to start get some brain storming done on the OOC comment we’ll leave below (or just can’t tag in today/tomorrow but want your voice heard) please feel free to do so.
• Once that period of time has passed (48hrs) we will post the second half of the fight/consequences/reactions as it would continue appropriately as decided by the actions the characters would take and how those actions would sway The Decision Tree.
• Please leave all questions under the “Questions” mod comment like last time for sake of ease of reference.
• The Decision Tree is an experimental device we’re going to attempt in order to allow more freedom in the game and impact on the world, as this is our first time running it, there are sure to be bugs and we ask that players be patient and as understanding as possible while we try to work out what we can surrounding this. If it doesn’t work? We’ll trash it the next time around and you’ll never have to see it again! If people like it, we’ll do our best to refine it and offer it whenever possible.
• We’ve got some oldies but goodies for monsters creeping up again, if enough attention is paid, it can be observed that they actually seem to be just trying to run the fuck away and not actively engaging in combat.
Iguions:(image!) A big, meaty toad, these monsters make up for what they lack in intellect with size and numbers. The most irritating aspect of these groups of giant amphibians is their ability to cast a form of Regen on their group as they attempt to overwhelm and outnumber their opponents.
Iron Crabs:(image!) An ugly crustacean with an iron tough shell. While it's hide is nearly impenetrable and its pincers are both strong and sharp, getting an attack in at its unarmored mouth will do well to slay them.
For those characters participating in this event, we've set up for your character to receive a randomized damage roll based upon this chart which you can modify as desired! Or! If you don’t want your character to participate/don’t feel they would, feel free to delete them from the sheet!~
1 - Scratches and bruises. Nothing serious! 2 - Muscle tears, minor cuts, minor fractures. 3 - Open wounds (smaller), moderate fractures. 4 - severe fractures, medium wounds. 5 - Crushed bones, large wounds, in need of serious medical attention but still functional at reduced capacity. 6 - Brink of losing consciousness/unconscious depending on injuries.
And! If you have any questions, please, feel free to drop us a note here under the "Questions" comment so that we can keep everything neat and tidy and easy to find. Please and thank you!
Edit: Quick note guys! As this has been how we've run every plot/reward so far, but haven't officially stated it, we wanted to let everyone know that the way things work, is that they characters who are threaded/logged for an event are the ones who get rewards on the back end. Just so no one gets unpleasantly surprised by this down the road. ♡
Also! There are other monsters surging forward The Iron Crabs and Iguions are back as mentioned in this OOC post! They just take a little longer to start turning up. Just in case you wanted something to do~ ♡
