Some folks on JournalFen report they've succeeded in getting this message:
"LiveJournal may be unresponsive or slow to load due to some database problems we're experiencing. Our Operations staff is working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible."
I get "LiveJournal.com is currently unavailable due to emergency maintenance. Don't worry, this has nothing to do with our recent company layoffs! It's a technical problem, not a lack-of-personnel problem. Thank you for your patience." when I click http://www.livejournal.com.

Honestly, I'm less concerned about this being a product of layoffs than that this same thing happened a couple of weeks ago.

But if it goes on more than a day, maybe sabotage, or something.

Ordinarily, wouldn't worry. After layoffs, I worry.

I'm sort of amused by that. And the "Operations staff is working" LOL right.

Interestingly enough, a friend reported that GJ is dead:
403 Denied
GJ is currently down - Please go to LiveJournal
GJ does not respond to my click, either.

I blame the death of GJ and the sudden rampant influx of new users.
