So, now livejournal is deleting/screening comments to their news posts, such as people complaining that the new color scheme for some dang thing is ugly, and then banning those people from commenting in news!
People are posting screencaps. Go over and look before it all disappears! :-)

ETA: The ugly new doohickey is the customization page, and apparently the new one no longer supports overrides, which (if I understand correctly) are pretty much essential to actually, you know, customizing the look of your lj.

I have to agree with a user who posted in the news entry: "No one 'cares' because most who would have already left LiveJournal."
Goodbye, LJ. You will leave us sooner or later anyway.
Or in pirate speak: Ayy, ye landrats! Start swimmin'! Th' H.M.S. Livejournal's sinkin' and sink it will! Arrrr!

Honestly, it's almost to the point where LJ flist be damned. :/

So, my lj f-list used to almost always take longer to read than I had time for -- I'd run out of time long before I'd get back to the posts that I recognized. Nowadays, I only have to click on "earlier entries" once, and I'm back to the previous stuff. The majority of the people I follow seem to have mostly quit posting there.

The customization page that they're talking about in that news post is the new one that's just starting beta. It's possible that they'll put the overrides back in before the new customization page becomes the default, or even that they'll run the new page concurrent with the old one for a while, like s1 and s2 page schemes. Not important enough (or, to be fair, not decided yet) for lj news.
I think the ad that people are (currently lol) complaining about is this one:
"Knocked Up" Is Coming Soon To DVD
The movie "Knocked Up" starring Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen is coming out on DVD, September, 25th! To celebrate the DVD release, Ben of “Knocked Up” is returning to the knockedupmovie Sponsored Community to discuss the next phase of relationships.
