Prompt #81

No points were awarded for last week.

This week's prompt is #81 - Letter

Writing, reading, delivering - email would even be acceptable for this prompt. I don't even mind if you use letter format!

Has Yohji received another email from Schuldig?  Did Farfarello receive some fan mail from his fan club? Is Nagi writing hate mail again?  Has Aya finally had enough of his job and is delivering his letter of resignation?  Does Manx have in a keepsake box her first ever love letter from an admirer?

No matter what kind of letter it is, who writes it or receives it, or even who delivers it - tell us all about it in just 100 words.

Bereft

Title: Bereft
Challenge: Letter
Character: Manx

Team: Schwarz
Word count: 100

Beloved,

That you are reading this letter means two things have happened: I have died, and you have remained behind. For the latter, I bless you. For the first, I beg your forgiveness.

I wish I could have given you my sole devotion, that we could have perhaps raised Omi as our own son. But the fates were not so inclined. The moment we agreed to our task, to serve society by being its defender, we sacrificed any future we may have had together.

For that, too, I beg your forgiveness. You – and he – deserved so much better.

Takatori Shuichi

Language Barrier

Title: Language Barrier
Challenge: Letter
Character: Schuldig and Nagi

Team: Schwarz
Word count: 100
A/N: Does Nagi really not know, or is he pwning Schuldig being difficult? You decide.  ~_^

Nagi stared blankly at the paper, then pointed at one of the letters.

“It’s an umlaut,” Schuldig explained. “It makes the letter sound – well, sort of like it has an ‘r’ after it.”

Nagi frowned, unwilling to try saying it.

Schuldig sighed and scrubbed a hand over his face. His brain ached with the kid’s constant mental stream of what, to him, looked just like bird scratchings. “You don’t even write with letters, do you. How the hell am I going to teach you German if you don’t even have an alphabet? Scheiße!”

Nagi perked up. “
シャーイサ!”*

“…Close enough.”

*(That's “shiāisa” in katakana.)
