WHO: Clarke, Penny, and Others/Open
WHAT: Drinking/Potential Bar Fight
WHERE: Get Some Bar and Grille
WHEN: 10 pm, August 31st

The rattling of the thunder outside was barely noticeable to the patrons inside the bar as the normal level of murmur that hovered above a dull roar took place. For the most part it was the sound of conversation, laughter, and glass on glass as bottles were handed out, mugs filled, and the occasional blender action as Milkshakes were made. It was the dimmer of one of the corners that found one of the professors of the PPRA huddled with a pint glass in front of him, filled t the brim with the amber ambrosia of the gods he so enjoyed. It came complete with a foamy top, and as he took a hold of it, and lifted it to his mouth to take a sip, he found only joy on the other end.

Clarke disliked Mondays more than anything else, mostly because it meant that weekends were so far away, but he found that at the very least, any night was an excuse to drink. Alcoholic he was not, for in truth he was a connoisseur of the fine liquid. He had the best that Germany had to offer in Oktober Fest, and seen what the British could while on assignment there. He’d been around to Belgium, and the Netherlands, and he’d even been down under to that crazy land Evelyn was from, and had some of their best brews too. At the end of a hard day, this was all he cared for to help him relax. Maybe Hank would show and they could have a nice game of darts. Yes relaxing is what he had planned on, however….like very rarely followed design.

WHO: Tristan and Penny
WHAT: Tristan wants to hang out with Penny
WHEN: 8/31, 11:10 am
WHERE: Penny's place

Tristan glanced in the mirror, frowning at his image. Even with a long sleeved shirt on to cover the bruises on his arms, make-up on his face to disguise the marks on his face, and an eyepatch to hide his black eye, he still looked a bit of a mess. His cheek was swollen, his skin was scratched in a few places, and the make-up wasn't exactly put on perfectly. He'd picked it up that morning from a store in town. He'd gotten a few raised eyebrows over that, but he didn't care. Anything was better then looking like he just got a serious beating- which he had. Plus the eyepatch was just a little suspicious.

Ah well. He'd tell everyone he was starting a new fashion trend or something. They might even believe him. And with that he left his apartment and headed over to Penny's place. He hadn't hung out with her in a while, and hopefully Penny could cheer him up. He still felt horrid over the whole thing with Evie, but he knew it was better to let her cool off then try to apologize right now.

In no time at all he was in front of Penny's door and knocking on it. 'Bang bang-bang bang bang, BANG BANG.' "Penny! You in there?" he shouted through the door. Maybe he should have called to check that she was in. Not that it mattered, he was here now he supposed.

WHO: Matt Clarke and Open
WHAT: Out for a Walk with the Dog
WHEN: 10 am, August 30th

Clarke looked down at Duke who upon feeling his master's gaze upon him also return the look. Shaking his head, Clarke took a swift sip from te bottle of beer he held in his hand. The dog had frustrated him to no end, but inthe end he had given in and allowed the dog his freedom from the confines of the house. It was quiet this morning but no doubt this was due in part to the battle the day before, and everyone sill held their breath over the condition of the Red Ranger from Phoenix.

Matt tried not to tink about it though. Billy was a good kid, he'd make it through. Instead he focused on Duke who had strayed off and was now sniffig at a fallen branch that te grounds crew had yet to collect. The dog loved fetch, and it's fascination with the fallen piece of wood was an indicator to his master that he would settle for nothing less than a round. Not even bothering to put up an arguement, Clarke leaned down and picked up the branch. The older dog instantly becam young as he put all his weight on his back haunches, his tail flailing in the breeze. With a flick of his wrist Matt cased the branch away and like a rocket Duke zipped off after it, a small trail of drool starting go slide away from it's mouth.

[info]desmondcormac

WHO: Des and Penny
WHAT: Comfort Central
WHEN: The evening
WHERE: Desmond's place

Desmond wrapped one arm around Penny, leading her into his sparsely decorated home with a gentle care that he only reserved for those he was close to. "C'mon love, have a sit. Do you want anything to eat or drink? Water? Milk? I've got some soda... Angela convinced me to go grocery shopping, so there's actually food and wotnot today." He moved anxiously towards the kitchen, unsure of what to do with himself. Penny was pregnant. Was that kind of like being sick? Should he make her chicken noodle soup? Was chicken bad for the baby? Fish was. He'd read that some damn place... oh! It was a warning lable on the fish that he'd bought at the store. So what about chicken? He was starting to stress himself out. Oh Lord. Wotevah. Pouring her a drink, he returned to her side, taking a seat and handing her her glass. "Here you are love."

[info]staffan

WHO: Staffan, Penny, Kamal, Charlie, Lindsey, Angela, and Jake.
WHAT: Hanging out.
WHERE: The pool.
WHEN: 8/13 Evening.

With everything going on lately, all the stress that most of the rangers have been feeling, Staffan and Kamal decided to try and do something about it. Staffan, in particular, wasn't out to have fun, but he felt at least comfortable around the other rangers. Something told him that they should just stick together, and at least try to relax and not stress out over the current situation. It wasn't much, just a simple hang out at the pool that day. Food and drinks were provided, of course.

For Staffan, it was just to take his mind off things as he floated in the pool, looking out over the scene in front of him. He was around people he knew and liked, people he could consider a second family, and right now, that is what was important to him. Beer in one hand, he paddled around the water with his other, the inflatable lounger he was on not cooperating much to his dismay. With a groan, he set his bottle between his legs, trying to keep it from spilling as he used both hands to paddle in the water. As soon as he did, though, his luck took a turn and he flopped straight into the water, beer bottle and all.

Surfacing a few moments later, he glanced around with pursed lips, "That wasn't funny, so don't even laugh!"

[info]adina_lee

Who: Adina, Jake, Penny and open
What: Merits of a decent lunch
When: Lunch time, the 11th
Where: Outside the Cafeteria

Adina sunk carefully to the side of the building, inching near the doors. She was going to make it outside. The cafeteria staff didn’t trust her to bring her tray back. They had good reason too, but that didn’t mean Adina was above sneaking outside.

She checked to see if she was being watched, then darted for the door. She slide to the side of the building and check in through the window that no one was trying to stop her. Okay, so maybe it wasn’t too big a deal…but it was more fun to pretend it was.

Once in the sunshine she smiled, found the nearest tree and set her tray in front of her. She grinned. She had milk for her disguised as cereal flavored sugar and a glass of chocolate milk. Then she’d managed to talk one of the other students out of their pop. Plus she had a piece of chocolate cake for desert. Then there was the green taffy she’d brought down from her room with her because she’d promised her aunt she’d eat something green with every meal.

Life was good when one had good food.

WHO: Active Rangers & Professors (and maybe training soon, too)
WHAT: Figuring out what happened
WHERE: The Academy, main school building/morphing grid
WHEN: Same day as all the riots

Lindsey let out a muffled noise of pain as he slumped to the floor; he'd arrived on the bottom floor of the main school building, recognizing the halls immediately. Down the way to his right lay the room with the morphing grid, and stumbling past him were most of the Alpha bots, chattering back and forth with their arms in the air. Something bad had happened while they were gone. He sat up slightly, noticing right away that his uniform was gone... and he wasn't really glowing. Their powers had been cut off as well. "Shit," he muttered. His head throbbed, the wet red spot on the back matting his hair together. He would need immediate medical attention, which pissed him off right away. He wanted to be involved, find out what was going on. Instead he'd have to be sent off and looked after as though he'd broken a leg.

WHO: All Active Rangers!
WHAT: Riot control
WHERE: Dallas, Texas
WHEN: July 27th, 2009 - 1:30pm, onward

[ Note: We can have multiple threads here, one solid one or whatever works! If you want to start your own thread, that's fine too! ]

Lindsey sighed when he heard the beep of his communicator, but ducked out of sight and into the bathroom of the shopping mall he'd been scouring over. New shoes would have to wait for now. He brought his communicator up and listened to the message, the scowl on his face deepening, his jaw tensed. This sounded like a big deal. This sounded like the kind of deal that could ruin an evening... or several. "Of course," he muttered.

The bathroom wasn't an ideal place to respond to the call, but after checking to be sure he was alone, Lindsey locked the door and pulled out his morpher. Quick - to be sure he wasn't heard - he called out his animal spirit, "Firefly!" and was immediately teleported away from the mall. A streak of yellow energy followed him through the sky as he was sent to Dallas, Texas, and when he arrived, he was in full uniform and prepared to do what he needed to handle the situation.

The riot was already out of control. Thousands of people filled the streets as far as Lindsey could see, screaming, the sounds of metal hitting metal filling his head. Nearby him the creak of a car being lifted up caught his attention and he watched in horror as it was flipped over and swarmed by people. There were anti-Ranger signs on the ground, fires growing in nearby buildings and shattered glass everywhere.

Lindsey pulled out his Blade Blaster and set off into the crowd, his heart pounding as the crowd pulsed around him.

WHO: Penny and Quinn
WHAT: Hanging out
WHERE: Penny’s apartment
WHEN: Post shopping on Quinn’s part

Quinn shifted his feet as he held the grocery bag he had with the toys he’d bought in it. He need help making a decision and he was sure Penny wouldn’t look at him weird for asking. After all spoiling a nephew was serious business; one had to get the right toys. So green ball or multiple colored key rings set?

He knocked.

Then he rocked back on his heels wondering if he should ask Penny if she was feeling all right. She seemed a bit subdued lately. He’d have been expecting irritated since she’d just quit smoking. Also, what was with the being mostly non-alcoholic when they’d gone out the other night?

He was also confused as to why he’d agreed to spend time to with a complete stranger.

He needed a good Penny hug or snuggle, either at this point would help.

WHO: Professor Jason and Leon; open
WHAT: A friendly chat.
WHERE: The Academy grounds.
WHEN: Afternoon.

Leon was sitting under a tree, enjoying a nice day. He felt like he ought to have a book or a lunch or something, if only for the image; but he wasn't much of a reader, and he wanted to put off eating until later, in case he needed to get some drinking done.

Or maybe he should go get something to eat. There was always a chance he'd get called over to handle something in New York, and he sure as hell didn't need to be doing anything like that on an empty stomach. Nothing good came of that sort of thing.

Yeah, that'd be the best thing to do, to get something to eat. Leon stood up and stretched, and set off back to his apartment.

Who: Penny and Lindsey.
What: Snuggle bunnies and kitty ballerinas! That makes sense okay, shut up.
Where: Lindsey's apartment.
When: Now.

Penny sighed, knocking on Lindsey's door and shifting between her feet. She had a key to his place (because privacy between them was overrated, and honestly they both knew when the other was getting laid), but she knew him well enough to know he probably wouldn't feel like having her barge in right now. And Penny wasn't feeling so intrusive, herself. At least at the moment. They had a strange sort of ESP between them, an intimacy that went beyond being the same colour ranger and being in the same line of work. Penny sometimes felt like he was her soul mate- it was too bad he was gay. "Bindsey boo," she said softly, knowing he liked the nickname, hoping it would bring a smile to his face, no matter how small. "Lemme in? I brought you your favourite scented candle. And your favourite tasting muffin," she teased slightly, hoping the bribes would make him open the door. She felt a heavy sadness and frustration behind that slab of wood.

[info]quinn_reeve

WHO: Quinn and Penny
WHAT: Catch Walrus!
WHERE: Library.
WHEN: Today, 5ish

Duplication Quinn had quickly discovered didn’t mean that he was suddenly Jamie Madox. He could create one replica of himself and was completely aware of both. Working the both of him in sync during training he’d discovered how quickly it exhausted him. He’d yet to use the power during battle as he wanted to understand how it could work towards his team’s advantage first.

Hence, he’d headed to the library to read up on any former rangers who’d also experience duplication. He wanted to know if it tired them out as well. He also wanted to see how they had used it, when they’d used it, how they’d used it.

He’d gotten comfortable at a computer first, looking though a few files and finding some books that discussed the idea. Some of them looked pretty far fetched, but other might have information he could use to expand on his power…maybe.

He was so deeply engrossed in what he was reading it startled him when something furry brushed against his leg. He jumped and barely managed to keep from giving a startled shout. Thankfully he’d managed to remain quiet. He looked down. Walrus blinked back up at him, then rubbed against his leg in a gesture that demanded petting.

Quinn knew Penny let her cat wander the grounds, but he wasn’t so sure she’d want him wandering into buildings, especially the library. He moved his chair back, with the intention of grabbing Walrus. Walrus scooted away from him. Quinn frowned and kneeled down to reach under the desk he’d been using, “Here Walrus, I’m just want to return you to your mom.”

[info]lindseyshines

WHO: Lindsey, Prof. Jason Applegate, Quinn, Penny
WHEN: Thursday, July 2nd, lunchtime
WHERE: Just outside school cafeteria
WHAT: Chillaxin'

Lindsey sat on the steps leading out from the cafeteria, the spread of grass in front of him tempting -- but not quite good enough for him at that exact moment. There was a soft California breeze and as it moved his hair he took in a breath, holding it briefly before letting it out in an exaggerated sigh. He flicked the ashes off of the end of his cigarette, watching the flecks of light and ash out of boredom alone. He knew the students in the cafeteria were buzzing about their first week of school, today being Nutrition & Personal Wellness, of course. He rolled his eyes, recalling how much he'd hated that class. It had been a total bore, and he'd nearly failed it.

Times like this make him look back at his decision to join up, to come to the PPRA in search of... well, whatever it was he'd seemed to achieve. He raised his eyebrows at that, his thoughts easy to read on his face. He wondered what it was he was still doing here, if he was really happy, if he'd made the right choice. And so what if he hadn't...?

It wasn't as simple as turning in his power coin and going about his way. He didn't have anywhere to go.

He shifted his weight and his legs, bringing them forward to reposition himself. His feet were falling asleep and that felt downright awful. Lindsey brought the cigarette to his lips again, squinting upward into the sunlight; his skin reflected the light back up into the sky, a mirror and a host of what he felt was a powerful weapon -- and a damned curse. It wasn't as though he could trot around out in public whenever he felt like it. His free hand rose to touch the cool metal of the bracelet he wore, thankful that the Academy had been able to give him this small gift. With it he could keep his powers hidden for short periods of time, long enough to go shopping if he needed to.

"Need new shoes," he grumbled, eyes settling on what appeared to be nearly perfect Converse sneakers.
