| Who: Eily and Lochlan Where: the park When: afternoon
When Eily got home, she realized very quickly that Lochlan had fucked off. Which she wasn’t okay with even a little bit. So, after getting Patrick settled, she headed out to look for his sorry ass. She considered texting him, but she didn’t figure he’d answer. So, in the end she didn’t, she just started looking around the dome in places she thought he might be. Which included the park. Sure, she shouldn’t be out wandering around by herself, but she had her sawed off shotgun and hatchet with her, so she wasn’t totally unprepared if anything stupid happened.
Lochlan had run himself out. He had sprinted through his favorite trails and then calmed to a walk through the main part, trying both not to think and yet trying to understand what the hell was going on. He passed very few people which suited him fine but when he caught sight of a familiar blonde head, he almost took off in the opposite direction. Eily was probably the last person or maybe the only person he wanted to see right now. He didn't know. His shoulders slumped as he faced her. "What are you doing here?" | Who: Sylvia and Aidan Where: the brewery When: late
Sylvia had had an interesting day. She'd overheard quite the conversation at the hospital earlier, and was eager to test out the theories connected with it. However, she was shooed out of the hospital not long after, and then she'd been left to her own devices. So, she'd wandered in the woods for a while, hoping to find a wolf, but in the end she didn't. She wound up by the brewery, and opted to go inside, ignoring the strange looks she got from the patrons still there near closing time. She chose the farthest seat away from anyone else, against the back wall. There, she waited for the tender to come ask her what she wanted, while she set her parasol on the bartop next to her, though she deliberately placed it between her and anyone else at the bar proper.
Aidan rarely worked the bar when it was busy, preferring to be in the brewery proper, but with both Patrick and Lochlan in the hospital, they needed the extra help. He set about wiping down tables and stacking chairs, preparing for the floor to be swept, when he realized they still had another patron in the back of the bar. There were still some in the front, but they would be wandering out soon enough, so he stopped with the cleaning and headed back to her table. “Hey, sorry I didn’t see you back here. Can I get you something to drink?” Aidan offered. She seemed a little young for beer, but there wasn’t a drinking age, and, hell, he’d started at her age or younger. | Who: Mannix and Clementine Where: Clementine’s House When: Late Afternoon
Once Jack was home from the hospital, Mannix fell into bed, sleeping away most of the day. He woke to the sound of rain, always a pleasant sound, as it meant he wasn’t stuck in the house quite as long as usual. Plus, he just liked the rain. It wouldn’t be the first time he wandered over to Clementine’s during a storm, but at least this time he took an umbrella, thinking maybe she might enjoy the company. If Zania was around, he could tell her about the new things he’d learned about their blood, but really he just wanted to get out of the house. Mannix knocked on the door and waited, hoping someone might be home.

| Who: Zania and Serge Where: Town Center When: Late Afternoon
Zania left Eatzy’s to wander out into the rain, heading back over to the block where her new club would be. She liked the opportunity to be outside in the semi-daylight, even if it was the kind of weather that generally kept everyone else inside. If the sun wasn’t out to burn her, then she was taking advantage of it. She stepped under the overhang of the buildings and brushed the water off her face before pressing it up on the glass to look inside the building. Right now it was barren inside, but she could already imagine how she would set it up. There was so much work to be done, but she was ready to start as soon as possible.

| Who: Liam and Darcy Where: The brewery When: late
Darcy had sent Liam another message to meet her at the brewery, which door to go to and everything, then she’d set about putting things together. Yes, she was a little more dressed up than usual, long dress that dipped low in the back and she couldn’t wear a bra with, but it was still subtle, since Avery’s slut comment was weighing heavily on her. Then she’d raided Aiden’s stash, knowing where it was and getting them some of the best, dropping it into a bucket of ice. The bar would have been easier, but her luck it wouldn’t be closed or someone would be wandering around, so the brewery proper it was. It smelled strongly of hops and beer, but it was a familiar scent to her and hopefully not too much for Liam. She’d spread a blanket in one of the darker corners, adding in a lantern for mood lighting and then paced anxiously while she waited for him to meet her. ( finally ) | comments: Leave a comment |
| Who: Avery and Darcy When: late afternoon Where: Home
Darcy was busy putting together what she needed for her date with Liam. Yes, the weather was crap and not looking like it was getting better, but Darcy had a plan and a hurricane wouldn’t stop it. She was determined. It meant her hair was mostly straightened with a round brush, but she was also pinning it back to get it off her shoulders in the the bathroom she shared with Avery.
Avery wasn't actively seeking out Darcy, but that didn't stop her from slowing down as she left her bedroom and passed the bathroom, spotting her cousin in front of the mirror. Leaning against the door frame, Avery watched Darcy for a moment before speaking. "Your hair looks pretty," she said, a rare compliment for Darcy making it's way past her lips. "Are you going out with Liam again?"

| Who: Mickey and December Where: Mickey's house When: Late
The various things that had needed fixing beyond the work he’d done at the police station had kept Mickey busy throughout the day and right up until dusk despite the less than ideal weather that rolled in. Then he was headed back to his place to clean up and re-check the small stitches on his stomach and arm. A few had pulled a little with the work he’d done but everything was still intact and after his shower he didn’t quite rush in re-bandaging the areas. Instead he just ate something light, standing in the kitchen in just a pair of jeans that didn’t quite fit right and hung a little lower than he normally would wear them. He knew to expect December at some point, but wasn’t really rushing her arrival. She’d get there when she got there and getting twisted up and excited about it wasn’t going to help matters. So Mickey let himself focus on other things, even if it was just the rain falling outside and the sandwich he was eating.

| Who: Mickey and Serge Where: Outside the police station When: midday
Serge was far from seniority here in Delphi, that was unmistakeably true; but with his military history and the way he carried himself? He was very aware of just how quickly people listened if he gave orders or offered an approach. Case in point, the continuing clean-up efforts. The wolf carcasses had been cleared up, the missing citizens largely accounted for, and while there would probably still be the odd blood stain on the streets, things were coming back together.

| Who: Micah and December Where: the morgue When: evening
The morning with Nic had gotten better, even if things still seemed shaky between them when he left. Micah was worried whatever was happening to him had screwed him up, and was in the process of ruining the two of them. Which meant he really needed answers. It was like an added level of need beyond what he already had.
Micah realized that he’d forgotten to actually say where he’d meet December, but habit had him heading towards her office in the basement. That made the most sense to him. “December?” he asked once he was letting himself into the morgue, looking around for her. ( Tell me we're not ) | comments: Leave a comment |
| Who: Justin and Zania When: Late afternoon Where: Eatzy’s Warnings: Some language
For once Justin was kind of thankful for the rain. It had slowed business down some, giving Justin time to catch up on things that had been put off while he’d been in the hospital. His leg was feeling better, and his limp was less noticeable as he moved around the diner. His mood wasn’t as sour as it had been the last few days, although he was still having trouble where his senses were concerned. He had no intention of going back to the hospital to get checked out, though, and after taking inventory, Justin hid himself away in the small office near the back of the diner to go over the schedule. He could still hear the cook talking to a customer, could hear the sizzle of the grill, and even smell the meat cooking. But at least it wasn’t as pronounced as it had been when he was up front. He was getting tired of the permanent headache.

| Who: Micah and Nic Where: Nic’s House When: Morning
Micah was exhausted and ready to leave the hospital. He didn't call before he left, just stopping once at the diner to grab a late breakfast for both of them and heading to Nic's. All he could hope when he knocked on the door was that the other man didn't mind. ( Read more... ) | comments: Leave a comment |
| Who: Maggie and Jack Where: Maggie's House When: Early Morning
Rain was never promising for business. When people didn’t have cars to get them around town, they didn’t wander out into the rain to get their hair or nails done. So when Maggie woke up to dark clouds and raindrops, she decided to stay home and instead settled in to read up on dogs. She was going through the books that Jack had brought her on veterinary medicine, slowly learning all she could learn. It was going to take some time, but she thought once she’d read everything, she could start advertising herself as a vet, while also working at the salon. Even if all she had was book knowledge, she had to start somewhere.

| Who: Jack and Mannix Where: The Hospital When: Pre-Dawn
Jack hadn't been awake much in the past few days. He'd been kept under, he knew, because he was that extensively damaged. How he lived, he didn't know and it seemed like there was a lot of confusion on the part of the medical staff, too. About all he had found out was that there was weirdness in his healing, like there'd been a jump start on it before he'd even got to the hospital. That and everything in the world seemed to be turned up to 11, and that wasn't really helping him.
Today he was fighting the meds, and had retained enough coherency to pull the IV out and let himself truly surface. Sitting up sucked, he felt like one big ball of pain, but he was usually pretty good with that. He'd just never been this close to death before. Either way, he was making extremely slow progress toward the bathroom, hoping he didn't have to deal with any nurses (or at least bitchy ones) when his brother arrived. Leaning heavily against the wall, he looked over. And realized that the door hadn't opened yet. No one was in the room with him. But he knew he was there. How? Did he sense him? What the fuck? | Who: Lochlan & Pat (later Eily) When: Morning (just before discharge) Where: Hospital Warnings: violence/language
Lochlan had slept fitfully, tossing off the sheets a nurse or a family member had pulled up on him as he slept. He was hot and his dreams were blood-soaked. He’d been awake several times through the night walking out of the room, trying to cool off somehow. It had been futile and so when he heard the morning sounds of the hospital waking up, he groaned and sat up in his bed. He was grumpy, something he almost never felt, but right now he sort of wanted to bite something and chew. Maybe he could order a steak for breakfast. He was just getting up to find out when his eyes caught on his cousin in the next bed. He’d known the man was there but just now it was annoying to see him. Not to mention smell him so strongly. “When are they coming to finally bathe you, stinky?” he grumbled.
That was not what he wanted to hear this morning. Patrick, half because of Lochlan's noisiness and half because his dreams were nearly as bad, hadn't slept either. He'd fought snapping at Lochlan and every so often would let out a passive-aggressive grumble in the middle of the night for the other man to shut up, but now? Now Lochlan was just asking for it. "Don't you fucking start with me, you smell like a dumpster." ( don't get in between two angry werewolves ) | comments: Leave a comment |
| Who: Zania, Clementine, and Skylar Where: Zan & Clem's House When: Pre-Dawn
It had been a long, quiet night, the kind Zania didn’t need when she was in a bad mood, because it meant she just sat around and stewed on the issue. She had no more answers today than she’d had yesterday, or would likely have tomorrow, but it was hard to get her mind off Mickey. Plus, she was getting hungry, and she was officially out of blood. It wasn’t a good way to start the day, though sleep was first on her list as she crept into the house just before dawn. If she’d been human, she might have missed the couple on the couch, but two heartbeats had to be investigated. She tip-toed towards them and smiled, not wanting to wake them. Why hadn’t they made it to the bed? It would have been much more comfortable for two.

| Who: Gabe and Corey Where: school When: noonish
Gabe stood just inside the school door, watching the rain come down. The other students had mostly trickled out, pulling out their umbrellas or raincoats and running through the downpour. He had neither today, his mind half gone since finding out about Ren’s death. Gabe moved through the motions, mimicking daily life without completely living it. It had been a while since he’d been this numb, but it was easier than feeling the pain. And the guilt. That was the worst of it. No matter how he saw it, he’d started the chain reaction that got them to where they were now. He’d always been angry about the deaths caused by the zombies, but this... this was his doing, at least in his eyes.
Corey was going to head to the hospital after school, her mind on Eli. It was pretty damn hard to miss Gabe, though. Especially because she almost walked past him without recognizing him. His entire posture was different. He wasn't looking like himself at all. So she pulled up short, refocusing her attention on him. "Hey," she said, ducking to put herself in his path, in his field of vision. “You okay?” ( that's all you can control ) | comments: Leave a comment |
| Who: Lia and Micah When: Mid morning Where: The hospital
Despite the discomfort of hearing almost every creak and footstep in the course of the night, Lia had slept fairly well. At least better than she had in the hospital. Riley’s body had been warm and solid and comforting and when she woke the next morning, she was feeling better than she had in a couple of days. Her senses were still in overdrive, but the pain in her shoulder was almost non-existent now.
Lia was able to get Sophia out of bed, dressed and fed before having to take her to school. Her own boss had known she had been injured, so Lia wasn’t due back at the high school until Monday, as long as she was feeling up to it. She was feeling up to it today, but there were things Lia needed to take care of. Besides running by Gin’s shop to say hello, take a peek at the naughty painting and pick up some clothes, Lia also wanted to see Micah. She was comfortable enough with him to tell him what was bothering her. There were lingering issues from her attack, and Lia had to hold onto some semblance of hope that he could tell her what was wrong.
