SNARRY-A-THON17 PROMPT CLAIMING IS NOW OPEN!

The Snarry-a-Thon is open to everyone over age 18 and anyone may claim a prompt. A list of fest rules and FAQs can be found here. Each prompt may be claimed up to four times - twice by an author and twice by an artist. If you would prefer to use a prompt of your own creation or any of the nearly 1,900 prompts from a previous Snarry-a-Thon, please claim Wild Card #1. You can find previous prompt posts at these links: 2009, part 1, 2009, part 2, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. If you are feeling ~adventurous, please select Wild Card #2 and the mods will assign a prompt to you.

When you sign up, you do not have to list an alternate prompt. But if you do, priority will always be given to your first choice. As this is not an exchange fest, authors and artists should feel free to interpret/adapt the prompts in whatever manner you decide. Requests for specific characters (other than Snape and Harry), specific kinks (unless they are critical to the spirit of the prompt), situations, time periods, or type of ending are up to the discretion of the writer/artist and prompts may have been edited for inclusion. Unedited prompts can be found at the original "Call for Prompts" posts on LJ, IJ, and DW.


Timeline:

If you haven't already left your prompts on DW, LJ, or IJ you have a few days left until the Call for Prompts post for Snarry-a-thon17 will close.

We'll stop taking prompts at 11:59PM(EST) on Monday, February 6. Then at 12pm (EST) on Tuesday, February 7, a complete list of all prompts will be posted to snape_potter. Comments will be temporarily disabled to give everyone a chance to read over the entire list of prompts and decide which prompt they would like to claim.

On Wednesday, February 8, at 12 pm (EST), comments will be enabled on the post and claiming of prompts will begin.

Don't hold back. All kinds of prompts are welcome - happy prompts, dark prompts, silly prompts, kinky prompts, fluffy prompts, romantic prompts, art prompts, prompts set in the past, present, or future, prompts from any universe, both unique ideas and beloved fandom tropes....We welcome any flavour of Snarry. Let your fantasies run wild! Submitting prompts doesn't commit you to anything.

Each person may leave up to TEN prompts but please, no more. And because we will be posting prompts inside a text box, we ask people please try to limit your prompts to no more than two or three sentences. We would like to reiterate that Snarry-a-Thon is not an exchange and personal preferences like who tops or side-pairings not essential to the spirit of the prompt may be edited from the final prompt. Last year's prompt table is here if you'd like to get a better idea what your prompt will look like in its final form.

Snarry-a-Thon is an anonymous, prompt-based fic and art fest hosted at snape_potter and posting at AO3 as well as LJ, IJ,and DW. This fest is all about having fun with our favorite pairing and celebrating the enduring love we have for these two men and they have for each other. Posting will begin on May 1, 2017. Snarry-a-Thon 2017 - True Love is selfless. It is prepared to sacrifice.

The Call for Prompts for the Ninth Edition of Snarry-a-Thon begins tomorrow, January 26!

This year we hope to have a fest that will meet everyone's Snarry needs. We will be hosting two fests at snape_potter: Snarry-a-Thon17 and Secret Snarry Swap and a comment fest for Harry's birthday.

For those who like to work from anything goes prompts, there is Snarry-a-Thon17, for those who like to warm up with Snarry during the busy end of the year holidays, there is Secret Snarry Swap, and for those who like spur of the moment comment fests, we'll celebrate Harry's birthday in style in July!

The first full fest of the year will be the 9th annual Snarry-a-Thon. Prompt-based and anything goes, our signature fest begins posting May 1st.

The summer months are always a bit slow and we'll perk things up a bit with Harry's birthday party comment fest!

Our final fest will be December's Secret Snarry Swap with details to come closer to sign-ups.
