Frank, what have they done to you?
Didn't we already go through this nonsense in the 90's?

An old Star Wars post from SD 1.0
I've recently visited Paris, and as a warm up to posting some things I found there, I thought I'd repost this from the old SD for your enjoyment.

I found this in a bookstore the last time I visited Paris, and thought I'd share it with you.

I'm not patient or good enough to change the text in situ, so I'll put in as much of the text as seems appropriate after the fact, and apologise to any French speakers as I mangle their lovely language (And that's why Cypher is my favourite superhero!)

Written and drawn by Enrique V Vegas

Be warned this is not only not dial-up friendly, it's actively dial-up hostile!!

When Alan Moore was crap (Violator: The World, Part One)
Continuing the look through the lowest point (quality-wise) in Moore's career... This three-issue series was called Violator: The World, or at least that's what the inside front covers of the issues will tell you. Reading carefully though, it becomes pretty clear that "The World" is only meant to be the title of the first issue, not the mini-series as a whole.

It's such an assurance of quality when they can't even do the title right.

The shocking truth about Lee and Kirby
Exactly what went on in the conferences where Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created so many of the Marvel Comics of the 1960s? Historians have fruitlessly wondered, but now we have the truth as presented by one of the creators. This document first appeared in FANTASTIC FOUR SPECIAL# 5 from 1967, which not only gave you a 30-page story about the Fantastic Four (guest-starring the Inhumans AND the Black Panther), but a 12-page back-up story starring the Silver Surfer, plus a dozen pin-up pages. You got your quarter's worth.
