03:38 pm [04nbod] [Link]	The Return of Lyrl Dox The DC Source has a preview of R.E.B.E.L.S including a catch up on Lyrl Dox, Son of Vril Dox, Great Uncle of Querl Dox. ( I'm guessing the aging is an alien thing. ) He grew up quickly, if I remember rightly the last time we saw him was showcase '96. The Reboot Legion are trapped in the 20th century and Brainiac 5 has inadvertantly awakened Brainiac 1. Vril gets the call and he decides to go and take down his dad. Nemesis Kid, Princess Projectra, Karate Kid, and Ferro Lad all applied to become Legionnaires at the same time (1966 real time). Nemesis Kid was revelead to be a spy for the Khunds and booted out. Never expected that. Ya gotta admit pre-Zero Hour LSH continuity is a little obscure at this point. So, yeah, there are people here who know their Legion. That said, I still don't feel like exhaustively explaining every little thing in the art below -- that's a lot of typing. Giffen's LSH is the densest storytelling this side of the Silver Age. No, I just want us to look at the pictures right now. We'll get to the themes later. 11:44 pm [galateus] [Link]	Brainiac 5 and Clark Waaay back in 2006, when the Legion of Super Heroes cartoon first aired, an s_d 1.0 member thought that Bouncing Boy would be the Legionnaire who'd be subtext-y for Supes. Then the episode "Legacy" happened. Hindsight, as they say, is 20/20. ( 'Training purposes,' dammit! ) ETA: Goddammit Photobucket just reduced their bandwidth limit from 25 GB to 10 GB. Yet they still sent me an email saying I'd exceeded the "25 GB" limit... At the time I thought it was obviously how Shooter saw himself in his early years writing the Legion but went on to discover the name M'rissy is actually referring to a fan of the Legion who had since died, Rich Morrissey. In the Computo post down the page, crinosg requested a look at pre-Crisis Duo Damsel's more seriously handled reaction to the death of her third body. That's in Legion of Super-Heroes Annual #1, in which Brainiac 5 uses the Computo technology in an attempt to help a comatose little girl, Danielle Foccart. Results: Predictable - Computo gets loose and takes control of LOSH's all-automated headquarters, whose systems begin attacking the Legionnaires - and locking out any potential help.
