I don't know how I'm going to not freak out about the NEWTs and yes, logically, I knew we would be taking it. But somehow packing the whole year's worth of DADA (and History for me!) in two months and then taking the NEWTs immediately following that seems to be very, very stressful daunting!!! I already want to draw up timetables for the entire summer, including when to take a "break"!

I think I'll just dive right into reviewing old materials from this year so that there is some semblance of understanding once we're back in that program.

My full name is actually Mandella Rosario Acosta Brocklehurst. Mandella isn't really a real name, I suppose. My mum really liked Mandy and she really liked Ella but she didn't want to give me three middle names, and she couldn't decide between Mandy and Ella so she she decided to smush it together and call me Mandella. Only everyone calls me Mandy anyway, so that sort of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

MANDY: Abbreviation of Amanda, meaning worthy of being loved.
ELLA: Abbreviation of Eleanor and Ellen, meaning beautiful fairy.
ROSARIO: In Spanish, it means rosary. Refers to devotional prayers honouring Mary.
ACOSTA: Originally it was used to refer to a person who lived by the seashore or from the mountains (encostas). It comes from the Portuguese da Costa (cognate of English "coast"), which in Spanish became de Acosta.
BROCKLEHURST: Habitational name from a place near Accrington named Brocklehurst, from Old English brocc-hol 'badger's sett' + hyrst 'wooded hill'.
