Klara was feeling a bit claustrophobic in their apartment. Their daughter was with their au pair, her husband was off who knew where, and she was feeling run down. So she decided to lead the apartment, draped in a long resort-wear white dress, and head to the Royal Club. She needed champagne and some sort of beautiful pastry dish to take her mind off of how incredibly infuriating Dominic could be.

She had the guise of a book with her, open on her table at the club but Klara hadn’t actually read anything in it. She’d tried, but the words just weren’t absorbing. Frustrated, she finished another glass of champagne, lit a cigarette, and waved for her server to just bring the bottle.
