The Golden Neep IC

Safe to say, I need new boots. Much to the delight of my housemate. He now has two new chew toys in the shape of my old pair.

Excellent match you lot, I'm proud of how you all played there. Now we've set the tone for the Neep and the rest of the season.

I've got quite a few things to update you on so bear with me here:

Harpies Roster

Speaking of the season...unfortunately the scheduler who has stakes in Montrose has decided to keep dealing us a bad hand so as you know, our Harpies match is in a few days. I'm going to rest a few of you for it and do some rotating.

Ada - you're on hoops (Micah, enjoy the break because I'm putting you in there for Catapults)
Doc - you're up again, if any of the Harpies have it out for you, I don't want to know why
Jason, Angus - you too (Davies, I've got plans for you don't worry. You're in for the next match)

I'll update you on training plans for our ridiculously long break before the Catapults later.

Harpies Notes/Strategy

The Harpies are...a heavy hitting team. Jones is a force unto herself but don't discount Griffiths, who takes advantage of the focus on her partner and comes out to deal some serious blows.

They've had a rough start to the season, I don't think there's a player on there who hasn't taken some serious injuries. But as many as they've taken (and it's a lot) they've dealt out more.


Beaters - This will be an important one for you, Jones is top of the league material and Griffiths would be the star were she on any other team. They are very offense-focused, and will take a few hits if it means dealing out bigger ones. Don't make the mistake of forgetting Griffiths.

Chasers - Weasley is their young up and comer who can make a serious dent in a game (see her 150pts and 60shots against Puddlemere), but makes rookie mistakes. She takes hits she could've avoided, and I'm sure none of us forgot her colliding with her captain. Morgan and Gables are solid and dependable, but nothing fancy.

Keeper - Price has had some great matches (92 and 97% defending, although the latter was against the cannons) but she's taken some big hits and falls apart in a bad way when her team takes a beating.

Seeker - Goswick has been taking serious hits so she's been hit and miss with the snitch, I count a blow for every match she's played. With 3 severe injuries. It's lucky she's young and can come back but it's taking it's toll and the reserve seeker isn't much.

Something more important

It's Ava's 7th birthday on the 20th. So official Montrose Holiday! I'm hosting her tiny friends for a party on the 18th so I (and the medic and manager) won't be there or readily available that day either.

Gregor will be running training on one of those days, I'll leave the exact one up to him. Treat him with the respect you would me, and follow what drills he wants to try.

Staffing changes

Unfortunately, McEwen, our PR has resigned for personal reasons. The timing is unfortunate of course but he wishes the team the best of luck in the rest of the season. No PR and a match within days is...less than ideal and my hope is that there will be a replacement in a relatively short time.

In the meantime, please keep that in mind for the next bit and try to be discr somewhat well behaved.

I've spoken to you each but after talking to George I'm not sure how long it'll take to get him back up in the air. And now we only have 2 beaters, one a rookie and one a bit self-sacrificing with her dives who has also.

Florrie...professional opinion time. Do Shona and I need to find a midseason filler?

What the hell is happening at Portree that both Camerons have gone and quit the team? Haven't heard from Isla so got no idea what's going on there, and okay Monte's not actually quit but is looking for a trade or release from the team. At least none of the teams have decided to completely rehaul their teams... that'd be a fucking nightmare.

And then there's still the drama with this motion to wipe the last season from the books - even if they've put it off slightly for now.

Maybe I'll catch a break? Not bloody likely though. My hand is going to start cramping from having to sign my full name all the time. Seriously, what wanker decided all official papers had to be signed with your full name?

Well, fuck Bad luck, Portree; though it was great seeing MacFusty MacFarlane playing again!
At least there's always the Neep. Also maybe consider giving me a break and hold off with the team drama? Yeah, no, that question would just go down so well...
