Che and I were talking about how there's not enough RPS in this fandom so February's challenge is going to involve Jake and Van RPS. Up for it? I know Jake and Van are.

First of all, Happy New Year! I wish everyone here has a wonderful and healthy 2009! :)

For those who haven't seen it yet, we have a new layout for the comm. I'm still making some changes to it but I hope you guys think it looks better than the last one we had.

And lastly, I've decided to have monthly challenges again for our members here. Due to some RL and internet connection issues last year, I was only able to host one challenge. Hopefully this time will be different and with enough participation, we can make this into a regular thing.

Our first challenge for 2009 is for fan fiction. Entries must be at least 500 words long. And participants must use the standard format for submissions:

A couple of things...

1. The second annual Project Holiday Spirit campaign was launched this week. If you'd like to know more about the cause/campaign (and if you'd like to make a donation), please visit the official site.

2. I would just like to remind our members to please, PLEASE tag your posts. For instructions on how to do this, please see this FAQ.

3. Also, for those who are having trouble with creating LJ-cuts, please read this page. For our authors here, please make sure that there are no huge gaps/spaces between the paragraphs of your story in order for the LJ-cut to work.

Members of vanhansis.net have launched a campaign to get Luke and Noah more airtime. I believe we all agree that the boys deserve to be seen more than just one day a week. Hello!

There have been some discussions about whether or not we should allow posts about Van and Jake's personal lives in this community and my co-mod, onefortythree, even created a poll to gauge members' opinions regarding the matter. Judging by the poll results, most of you think that it's all right to discuss the actors' personal lives. And since that's the case, we are going to continue to allow such discussions to be posted here in our comm. However, we ask that you follow some simple rules when making this kind of posts:

1. Please place any entries/posts about the actors' personal lives behind an LJ-cut and please use the appropriate labels (subject lines and LJ-cut texts) and tags. We believe that this is a fair compromise for everyone here. For those who don't want to read about this topic then this is the best possible way to avoid them altogether.

2. Speculating about an actor's private life is one thing but until Van and Jake go on record about their personal lives, please avoid stating what you know or what you think you know as facts.

And that's it. If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions (and even violent reactions :-P) regarding this, please feel free to email me at 1miracle [at] livejournal [dot] com.

I just wanted to remind everyone about our community policy regarding spoilers: Please place ALL spoilers behind a cut. I've been lacking horrible on updating the memories but now that I'm on holiday break I was planning on revamping them a little bit and of course updating them.

Some questions I have for members to help me out:

Are you all big on the memories? Do you use them? What would you be looking for if you were to access the memories? What would you like to see as the link to the entry (date, title, rating, author name etc)

If you could leave me any comments on this that'd be great and very helpful.

As a few of you may have noticed, this community name has been changed from:

As this fandom seems to keep growing, it seemed wise to have a name that was a bit more accessible to anyone new to the pairing. And none of the posts or anything have changed, just the name.

MOD UPDATE: I've sorted through all of the previous posts in the community and managed to file them into the memories for easy browsing! :D The link to "The NUKE Archive" is now located on the user info page, as well as the default link at the top there. :3 *points to community header* Hopefully this makes nukelover a wee bit more accessible for everyone!
