Once again, I've missed something. Anyone know what happened with Martha Byrne? Is she off the show? If so, why? And how did they write Lily off?

Van and Jake did a feature interview with Soap Opera Digest for the magazine's - and I am not kidding - "Man Issue." So it turns out the soap rags actually do have a sense of humor.

The issue will be on newstands April 15th. In the meantime, they have posted some "outtakes" on their website, where the boys argue about movies and comic books and defy anyone to believe they are not completely, totally and madly in love with one another.    

Soap Digest: Did you have a natural rapport or did you have to work on your chemistry?
Hansis: We don't sit down like, "So, Jake, let's work on our chemistry. I'm going to glare longingly into your eyes."
Silbermann: Eyes, lips, eyes.
Hansis: That is a trick, I think. You look eyes, lips, eyes.
Digest: Who taught you that?
Hansis: I made it up [laughs]. But it works! It reads on camera very well.

I just wanted to share this information with as many Van/Jake/Luke/Noah fans as possible. I guess the easiest way to do this is to quote what is written at welovesoaps.com.

In response to the latest blog by "As The World Turns" Emmy nominee Van Hansis, fans at vanhansis.net have organized "Project Holiday Spirit" in honor of Mr. Hansis and co-star Jake Silbermann. In the blog, Hansis laments the commercial aspects of Christmas, "I loved Christmas as a kid, but now, for whatever reason, and I really have no idea why, it makes me feel kind of blue."

Appropriately enough the holiday campaigned kicked off today, on World AIDS Day. Fans are donating money in honor of the actors to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. To join the team and donate, visit the team page.

If you'd like more information about this project you can go to the threads on the vanhansis.net message board

And if anyone is interested in knowing the progress so far, the Project Holiday Spirit (In Honor of Van & Jake)team has raised over 1500 dollars in about 24 hours. Personally, doing this and realizing that there are a lot of people out there that understand the meaning of the holiday season is helping me get into the holiday spirit.

Not sure if anyone's posted this already, but Van and Jake both had features in this week's Soap Opera Digest: Jake for an actor's focus, and Van for a thing where they showcase characters who've gone through a lot of trauma in a short period of time.
