"The show began its blatant discrimination near year's end, not letting them kiss during the notorious mistletoe scene. This issue began during the 2007 award eligibility period, remember.

ATWT even forbade the actors to kiss at the GLAAD Awards, by the way! I will write up our report on the details of that later, after I speak today with GLAAD prez Neil G.

Gold Derby will publish a full report later today, adding the input of more sources who I've been speaking to over the past 24 hours."

EMMY Nonination Ceremony: VAN :-)

All My Children stars Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) and Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Farah Fath (Gigi) and John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex) of One Life to Live, Marcy Rylan (Lizzie) from Guiding Light and Van Hansis (Luke) of As the World Turns will join Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) and Alison Sweeney (Sami) from Days of our Lives as The View hosts the live nomination ceremony for the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, Wednesday, April 30.

ABC will broadcast this year's Daytime Emmys live on Friday, June 20, from 8 to 11 pm/ET sharp, from Hollywood’s Kodak Theater.


Dankies update

Van and his wee, gay, little feet (featured also in my totally hot icon, courtesy of suzvoy) interview Tala Ashe, the actor who plays Ameera.  And we get a glimpse of what looks like a hot photo shoot with Van, Jake and Tala.  And Van's wee, gay, little feet. 

It's a good thing he is so freaking awesome, because he is the ONLY thing keeping me watching the show at this point.

Internet fans have been burning up the message boards wondering when Luke and Noah are going to kiss again (if ever). Van Hansis' (Luke) ears have been burning too.

"I've definitely heard that people have been upset by the lack of kissing." affirms the actor. "I have heard from fans."

Do those fans have something Nuke-lear to look forward to? "There's good stuff coming up," promises Hansis. "I feel like we're all trying to tell this story as best as we can. CBS and Proctor and Gamble are being very supportive. The characters are still developing and coming along."

Luke sure has come a long way since giving Kevin mouth to mouth on a dock, which is what passed for a smooch.

"Noah wasn't drowning their first time!" laughs Hansis.

I have to warn you guys that this one is a little painful to watch.   Just how many knots can Van tie himself into upon attempting to answer the question: "Do you feel like an icon/symbol in the fight for gay rights?"   

Makes one wonder why the show even bothers to make him answer questions like that.

 A  while back, As The World Turns started collecting fans' questions for Van on their website, promising us video of his responses.  And lo and behold, they did it!  Van answers the question of what it was like to be an out of work actor in New York City his first year out of college.  

Warning: Van is ridiculously adorable in this clip.  Also, I really want his scarf.  Like, yesterday.

P.S.  Does anyone else think that "Van's" voice is deeper than "Luke's?"  This could have been filmed early in the morning or something, but it made me wonder if maybe Van softens his voice a bit for Luke.  Which is kind of hot, actually.
