Expect a package tomorrow. It has a list of the names I could memorize while standing as protection for certain people while negotiations happened at Azkaban. I don't know want to know what you do with it. But I do know a few are very interesting.

After a lot of discussion, we've decided to take on some more help. Applications are at the shelter, just ask Treasa for one.

And now, time to deal with my heartbroken kid because I had to tell him we couldn't adopt four dogs today. I'm the worst parent.

The chickens are dead, and it took us too long to calm all of the animals down after that.

Well, now that the chickens don't find me "spooky" I've been able to get quiet a few more eggs from them without them biting me.

My mother has decided that Mothering Sunday means that she gets Cub for the day. And Paddy thinks he's funny becasue I got a card in the post.

Non-Drinking St. Patrick Day activities currently at the Summers's House:

-Learning about who St. Patrick really was.
-Learning about the history of Ireland.
-Alex helping me make all sorts of food.
-Listening to my favorite records from back home.
-Not thinking about how much I'd love a Guinness right now and how I'd probably cry if I had one because it's been so long.
-Making sure all of my friends/siblings who are participating in standard actives get home safely.
-Explaining exactly what Leprechauns are, and that their gold actually disappears to my child.
-Baking.
-Explaining my love of the Kestrals and why it's important to beat Catapults this weekend.
-Then having to explain it again because apparently Mr. Puffy was not paying attention and he was eating yesterday's newspaper instead. Can't say I'm that upset about it.

It's been an interesting day so far.

After having to wash and groom all of the cats today, Paddy is taking mercy on me and coming over and listing to all of the matches we can tomorrow with Cubbie and I. So Erica/Grant/Trish/George/(Derek/Benji I assume you're working but you know it's an open door)/I know I'm forgetting people blame the cats. There will probably be food as well.

I talked with Alex last night. He seems to have a pretty decent grasp of what's going on, but only time will really tell. We're both really proud of you and will be listening tomorrow.

That bug that was going around to the kiddies decided to skip Alex and go right for me.

I mean, don't get me wrong, after his last illness I'm thrilled he didn't get it.

But I hate having to stop what we're doing just because I start to feel another wave of nausea. Thankfully, he's building a fort out of blocks right now and keeps telling me not to look so it'll be a surprise.

Loads of eggs if anyone is need of them. I finished building a box behind the shelter this morning to put them in so just come on up and help yourself.

Cats are assholes. Expect when they're not. We decided we just adopted one for the clinic. Jinx's an old man, and is happiest sleeping under the desk, and I'm more than okay with that. Kind of nice to have a buddy while doing seemingly endless paperwork.

So my mum decided that she wanted to have a night with Alex, so that kind of leaves me on my lonesome tomorrow night. Want to come over for dinner?

As I have exactly eleven minutes before Pádraig joins me on the next year of our lives, I am going to take full older brother advantage by pasting in one of my all time favorite pictures of us. It was taken by our dear younger sister during her artsy phase and being the wonderful brothers we are, we indulged her. Also, Paddy looks like the giant nerd he is, and if anyone needs to find me, Paddy's probably has managed to outwit me and locked me in a closet somewhere. Send food.



Anyway, happy birthday little brother! I hope you enjoy our day as much as I know I will. The kid woke me up this morning singing "happy birthday" at the top of his lungs.

Worth it.

Last night was totally worth the punishment I'll have today for it.

It's still in the works and more information will be coming soon once it's finalized, but we're announcing that the Shelter is teaming up with the B&I League to do a adoption drive to help raise money to help with medical costs from the recent epidemic but also for those whose shops were affected by the riots as well. So just keep that on the back burner, yeah?

Also, on a more personal note, instead of our usual Wednesday night Bible Study next week, we're going to move it to Tuesday and we're going to try and hold a little bit of am ecumenical service for anyone interested. It'll just be lessons and carols, but it should be nice and all ages welcome. We're currently working on someone to play music for us, but if we don't, we'll muddle through.

After making macaroni and cheese, consuming it, a long bubble bath for him (and an extra hot wash/dry on Mr. Bear), stories read, Cub is in bed and completely asleep in his own bed.

And since someone went above and beyond in making sure that my home didn't fall into ruin while I was otherwise occupied, all I have to do tonight is crawl into bed and sleep as well. And you know, plan for the most epic sleep over that I promised my kid.

This might be the sleep deprivation talking, but my son looks so small in the bed right now.

This is crushing me slowly.

He doesn't get why I can't tell the nice Healer that he wants to go home. Why only his aunts and uncles have come to visit and why his best friends can't come and visit too. Or really, why Papa has to get out of bed to go use the loo for five minutes. This kid is not a clinger. I can barely get him to cuddle with me while we read bedtime stories usually.

I now understand how my parents felt when we were kids and Paddy got sick.

If anyone needs me for...I don't know how long...I'll be at St. Mungo's. Seems Alex has caught whatever is going around and he'll be in Pediatrics until he's better. Precautionary and monitoring and all of that. He's miserable, and keeps asking why he can't sleep in his own bed. I don't know how Treasa will be at the Shelter if you need anything there, and Paddy is taking a break from his book to help out there. So if you need things, they're there to help out with anything you lot might need.

Hello. I know we don't really know each other but Ernie Macmillan sent me to you as a point of contact. My son, Alex, has been admitted to St. M's with...whatever the hell is happening. Normally I wouldn't bother to be so worried, but the problem is Alex's mother. Before his birth we agreed that I would have full custody and she would have no contact with my child. And with all of this happening I'm afraid that she's going to try and come and see him. Usually, I'm not that heartless, but, I cannot and will not let that happen, for reasons I don't want to get into. However, I do have a copy of the offical agreement. Any direction you can point me in to make sure that she doesn't get to see him would be entirely helpful. I'm sorry to bother you, I know you have a lot on your plate, but I wasn't sure who to turn to with this.
