I am beyond pleased to announce my engagement to Orla Quirke. Knowing how she suffered as a result of her incorrect classification, I would like to make a number of donations to Diagon's fine medical establishments, including not only the Parkinson Hospital and St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, but also the Knockturn Alley Grace Clinic for offering such phenomenal care to my fiancée.

In the meantime, I've sent a pair of tickets to the opera for you to attend with a partner of your choosing. The Burkes have been patrons of the Obsidian since its creation, and as a result we own two private boxes. One of them is now open for your private use.

There have been... developments. You have a blood purity test at the Ministry on Monday at noon with one Henrietta Clove. As it turns out, you had a witch for a grandmother.

Once it gets out that you're not muggle-born, it'll be acceptable to publicly announce our engagement. In other words... you'll have new circles to run in. I'll be able to take you out, you'll be able to meet my friends and colleagues, attend functions and galas alongside me. You'll also be able to take jobs that previously wouldn't have been available to you. If you want to work, you can.

Unfortunately, this means that I have to ask you to only speak to your friends under extremely secure wards. If you'd like to visit the slums, I'd be happy to accompany you. After all, I do co-own Borgin & Burke's, which is located there. It wouldn't be remiss for you to come see it.
