Elaine was sewing in her room when she heard the announcement, and sat up abruptly, her eyes widening, and one hand pressing protectively against her belly.

Destruct? But... She put her sewing down and got up from her chair with some difficulty. She had to find her husband. He would be out on the grounds somewhere.

Sparhawk?? Did you hear that? she thought to him desperately, as she went out of their rooms and headed out to find him.

Upon going outside, she stood stock still at the changes that had occurred in their surroundings.

"Sparhawk!" she shouted, nervous and frightened now.

In the greenhouse, tending garden

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Though it was quite warm in the greenhouse, one's plants needed tending at all times and in all seasons, and so Elaine was working quite industriously at pruning and weeding. She was carefully skirting the magical plants that Ginny was working with as she tended.

She was still feeling quite tired most of the time, but one could not spend all of one's day asleep. That would simply not do at all, and life was so pleasant when she was awake.

in the chapel [open to all]

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Today, Elaine found herself desirous, for truly the first time since she had come, to make her prayers in an actual church. She misses Mass, misses the singing and even the long dull homilies that Mab often dozed through.

But the chapel will have to do. She takes out her prayer beads and prays her decade in a soft murmur as she kneels quietly at a pew.

Eventually, she is finished, and sits in quiet contemplation as she gazes up at the stained glass windows.

Out by the lake [open to all]

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Who knew that tea could be iced? And that it could be delicious?

And so Elaine sits, enjoying the day with iced tea and a book of poetry.

She has been feeling rather drowsy of late, but it is a lovely day and even though she is a little sleepy, she's enjoying the sun and warmth. Though at any moment, she may just start an impromptu nap.

It has been happening more and more often of late. Though she feels fine--wonderful, in fact. Her days are full of love and her nights even more so, with Sparhawk by her side.

Mostly, she just feels content.

In the tea room [open to all]

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Elaine was taking a little time with a cup of tea that she didn't make herself. She was writing a little, with a pencil and paper. Everything is strange here, and the pencil is the least strange of the items she has to write with.

Elaine is ambidextrous, so sometimes she switches which hand has the tea and which the pencil. There is no noticeable difference in the quality of writing. And every so often, she looks up to a nearby window, lost in memory.

The Wedding of Sir Sparhawk and Elaine d'Astolat [open to all]

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Everything was in readiness. The night before, they had set up everything with Ginny and Jamie's help. There was a small, white archway at the end of a bridal path of white, with chairs along both sides of the path. Small, twinkling lights hovered just over the ground, also compliments of Ginny.

There was a small area for dancing and tables for sitting and eating underneath a tent, and the breakfast reception would soon be spread--the party would go on for hours, perhaps, if people so wished.

Before the sun has even peeked over the horizon, when the dawn is just a purple dream in the distant sky, the priest shows up to make sure all is in readiness. He does so love weddings, the joy they bring to all who attend them, and it is a peaceful thing to be here first, before anyone, even the groom, has shown up.

It is a lovely morning, warm, with the mist still on the ground and the birdsong in the air.

And so he walks through the set up, making sure that nothing is inordinately wet, before the guests start arriving.

And
arrive they do
, blinking in the early morning, as many as want to come and are awake at this time. The priest greets them all pleasantly and guides them to seats.

Sparhawk and Jamie Madrox, his witness, come closer to the time, and he spends his time waiting and talking pleasantly with the priest--or at least as pleasantly as can be managed, with the imminence of the wedding. The bridegroom's eyes keep stealing towards the Residence, seeking the form of his bride. His witness nudges him, making a murmured comment, and Sparhawk laughs.

And the birds keep singing as the purple dawn turns to pink and red, and then there is a stirring out by the Residence, and the front door swings open.

An Announcement...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Elaine practically skips into the Lobby with a piece of paper, which she attaches to the message board while smiling and blushing happily. And nervously.

Sir Sparhawk

and

Lady Elayne le Blanke d'Astolat

request the honour of thy attendance

at their joining in the rites of matrimony

at dawn

upon Monday of this coming week

All are welcome. Come and share our joy!

Her task complete, she looks at it for a few moments before bouncing on her toes and starting back to her room. It was so close!

She could hardly wait.

[open to all]

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Elaine was sitting outside, near the lake, ostensibly doing her needlework, but really basking in the sunlight. Now that spring is here, she felt much more alive and much happier.

She sat on a quilt, but she removed her shoes and placed her bare feet on the grass. It felt so nice not to have to wear shoes at all. She was doing her needlework but she occasionally looked out towards the lake dreamily, just listening to the small waves rushing against the shore.

Lucas and Layla's wedding, set at dusk, Saturday. (OOC Ready for posting.)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
What: Lucas and Layla's wedding, set at dusk, Saturday.
Who: Invitations were given out to many residents of Here, mainly OTA (OOC notes-No Tags from The Bunny AKA Mister Bunny, please and thank you kindly.)
Where:: Set on the golf course of Here, Wedding and reception. Under an arch of 13 cherry blossom trees. Reception held under a tent set up by Ms. Ginny Weasley.
Why:: Lucas and Layla want to finally set in stone their wedding nuptials with their friends and family like members of Here.
Summary: Wedding and Reception of Lucas Scott and Layla Williams-Scott, R for language tops.
Status: Incomplete.

(OOC notes: OK, I fretted on how to do this, so what I plan to do is to create a photo-album for the dress, an idea of what the wedding and then the reception is to look like. I will explain in as much detail as possible what everything will look like. The albums, I hope, will cut down on image overload. I will lay everything out as far as who is doing what, with who and where. I will do my best to separate the post into the bride and groom with wedding party and pastor. Then the next section can be set up as the guests reactions to the event. A separate post will be made for the reception. It will be more free for all, I will try an assimilate some type of order to it. What I think might work best is to have the wedding party separate, then each member invited to the wedding gets to post a blurb as a reaction to the wedding. Then I will make another post for them walking down the aisle to the end and people then can each post another reactionary blurb. the reception will be more thread like. This way things don't get clogged. I will add a string from each person Lucas gave out an invite too, then a blank section for those coming with a guest as a date or who didn't get an invite handed to them, but picked them up from the lobby. You can add your own names, also please add your own tags as you join, so we get an actual account of who showed and not a wrong account based on misinformation. Below I will list all the people involved in the wedding and reception events, their song, who is giving speeches, special dances, etc. Each will have their own string at the top. The free for all type threads can happen after all those threads happen. I figure we can attack each section as people join, but there will be a placeholder there for that specific thread to happen. IF anyone has a question, email me or google talk me at slavetoserendipity@gmail.com. The pictures I will be posting will not be exact renditions of how the areas will look, just a general idea.)

The Wedding of Mr. Lucas Eugene Scott and Ms. Layla Sophie Williams. Please come and celebrate with them on this wonderful and special day. )

Channelling the Green Mother - OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Who: Abby Sciuto and - all together, now - anyone who would like to poke her gently with a stick...
Where: The Greenhouse.
When: After the change of the seasons.
Rating: I'll say PG-13, because...
Summary: Abby decides it's time to get her hands dirty...

"'Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?'
'With silver bells and cockle shells,
And pretty maids, all in a row.'"

~ Traditional English Nursery Rhyme

She's wearing black, which isn't unusual, but is very casual today: t-shirt, pants and boots. The t-shirt does have the skull-and-crossbones on it, but that's okay.

She doesn't think the plants will mind.

Abby walks the distance to the greenhouse, which is tucked neatly between the residence and the stables, and opens the door. The smell of earth and natural fertilizer and green, growing things wraps around her sense.

Ahh...

She opened the cupboards, checking for seeds and pots and soil and respecting the other plantings. Gathering what she needs - including the seeds she'd hoped for - she makes sure her pigtails are secure and starts to work.

Martha, The Boutique - OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
It's not really all that surprising to Martha that after a short walk on the grounds, she finds herself at the Boutique, browsing the racks. For one thing, she loves clothes, when she gets a chance to shop - not that this could be considered shopping. For another, she really does love clothes. Then, there's the notice she found on her door. According to what she read, the weather was going to change soon, and she'd rather be ready for the warmth than not.

She pulls a pair of shorts off a rack and considers keeping them.

In the Tea Room [open to all]

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Elaine is writing, and is very glad for the abundance of paper. This is...a very difficult letter to write.

How do you write the last letter to your family, knowing you'll never hear back from them? How do you convey that you miss them but that you're also happy?

She's staring at a mostly blank piece of paper. Maybe she should make a list of things she wants to say. Her brow is furrowed and she's definitely tense.

And the tea is not helping at all.

Sending a note to the Manager... [open]

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Elaine has been working on this note for a while. There have been several drafts made and discarded but in the end, she was still unsatisfied. But either her request will be granted or it will not. Either way, she will not let it dim her happiness.

Deare Sire,

I have been wondring if you might help me. I am to be married very soon, as you may know, and I...am wishing to send word to my Father that I am well and healthy. I am from far in the past, and we do not have Telafones or any such Thynge as that. I have been much distrest that Father be worried out of measure and I just wish to communicate with him, if only just once.

I Thank you for your Tyme.

Elayne d'Astolat

She rolls up her paper very carefully and sends it through the tube. She's never communicated with the Manager before, and she sits nearby, chewing on her lower lip and waiting.

A short time later, after she receives her reply, she goes into the Tea Room to begin writing to her father, with a cup of tea at her side.

With all the chaos, Sparhawk was wandering, looking for people in need of assistance. He had freed Faran from confinement and set him loose to defend himself or aid others, as the horse would choose.

He walked the halls, and the grounds, heading to check on Lady Elaine, for he knew this kind of situation would not be the most peaceful for anyone. He had made his peace with it, for though his magic was gone, he still felt his God within, and that held him up and kept him strong.

9ooc: Feel free to catch him anywhere for tagging!)

Things are even more quiet than usual around the residence. A perfect time for reading...even for ghosts.

She sits in the dim light of the library, near a moonlit window, glowing softly with some inner luminescence. She seems completely nonthreatening and at peace as she sits bent over her book.

Who: Lucas and OTA
When: Monday afternoon.
Where: The library.

Lucas sat at a table in the library with his laptop. He was doing some research and writing some of his book. He was deep in thought. He was typing on the laptop and probably wouldn't notice anyone unless they talked to him.

He's completely insane..

Who: The Doctor, OTA
Where: The Library
What: Uh, a bored Time Lord is never a good thing...

---

The Doctor sat in his chair in the library, surrounded by piles of books. He was sitting oddly, sideways with his long legs draped over the arm, and one arm lying limp by his side as the other held a book on front of his face.

He looked like he hadn't shaved in a few days, his suit jacket is in a crumpled heap on the floor, and his shirtsleeves are rolled up. His hair is sticking up at bizarre angles and there is a dangerous glint in his eyes underneath the glasses perched on his nose.

He really isn't as scary as he looks, but anyone who approaches him should be prepared for slightly more manic rambling than usual.

Who: Sparhawk and Open
What: Walking with Faran
Where: Outside and around the Residence
When: Evening into Night
Rating/Warnings: TBD

Sparhawk was walking, watching the night. This strange place bred a weird kind of relaxation, an ease of one's guard, even with the recent explosion. He walked, and as he did, he found himself wondering how the explosion had started and why.

It did not matter on a large scale, save that the cause might be loose amongst them. He dispelled such worries from his mind, for he was no longer a champion of a guardian, save of Elaine. He smiled as he thought of her, his mind going to the sound of her voice, the scent of her perfume. He knew he was slowly gaining feelings for her, and he hoped it would not distress her, and that hopefully she might someday return them.

He walked the night, waving at a young man flying through the night sky, and shaking his head. So much oddness here, and so much he did not understand.

But it was a good place. And it was, for now, home.
