Day 52.

Weather: No changes.

Events: Several lucky tower residents were selected yesterday to create American Thanksgiving floats for their fellow residents’ enjoyment. Maya, Gwen, Arlo, Nathan Johnson, Morgan, Edwin, Hiroki, Ravi, Shay, Calvin, Jesse, and Marco found themselves in the arena, paired up and given themes ranging from fall leaves to pumpkins and everything in between.

Today? It’s showtime.

That same group will find themselves once again waking up in the arena, each pair near their float, built atop a wheeled platform about the size of a standard car. There is a note posted to yesterday’s sign that reads:

”Greetings. Today is the day you will parade your floats past the Tower to be judged. You are responsible for getting your float safely to and past the Tower. You will complete one full circuit of the tower with your float and return it here, after which you are free to go.

Remember, floats can be no more than 25% magical. Your peers will be voting on your floats. The team with the most votes will be rewarded. The team with the least votes will be punished.

Go now.”

Hope no one built their float too heavy to roll easily, because they’ve got a decent amount of distance to cover.

As for the rest of the Tower residents? They are awakened at 8 am by insistent beeping from their computers, which are flashing a message light. The message reads:

”Greetings. Yesterday, several of your number were put into teams of two to design and build American Thanksgiving floats for a parade. The parade begins now. Please direct your attention to the road outside the tower to view the parade. Afterward, return here to vote on your favorite. The teams and themes are as follows:

Maya & Gwen: Fall Leaves
Arlo & Nathan: Turkey
Morgan & Edwin: Football
Hiroki & Ravi: Pumpkins
Shay & Calvin: Pilgrims
Jesse & Marco: Snoopy”

Once the parade has been viewed, prompts will appear on all the observer’s computers, allowing them to cast one vote for their favorite float.
