I don't think people appreciate the gravity of the situation here.

We're facing the end of days and there is more talk about weddings that battle plans. Movies seem more important than patrolling.

I was encouraged to find more than the battle but if we don't make it a priority thee won't be any weddings, or movies, or popcorn. None of it matters.

I can't afford to waste my time any more. None of us can.

We need the wedding planning, the talk of movies, the normalcy of going to work every day and a million other little things so that we can fight. So that we have a reason to get up every morning and face the nightmare that we know this world to truly be.

If all anyone focused on was the impending battle they'd go insane.

I'd love to say that we're constantly at the ready in case of battle. And, in a lot of ways, we are. But if all we ever focused on was impending war, we'd go mad. So we study, we learn, we prepare. But we have to keep living as well.

I don't see how focus can make you insane. You attend to your physical needs but I have seen, and been involved in, much of no import over this week. None of it made we feel safe or brought peace.

Because humanity is more than the physical form. Its life, the feelings, hope, fear, love, pain. If we lose that, he's still won.

Some people are used to constant patrols, constant research but that's not everyone. What helps one person can be detrimental to another.

Moments of being able to just be normal can make all the difference when things get to be overwhelming. They can be the anchor that saves us from drowning in the crazy we know is always lurking. Remind us we're alive. The threat is always there, even if we talk about other things.

Everyone has a different approach to war and not everyone has a mind to be constantly within that state of mind.

I would like to take up arms, but I am no warrior. I have not received instruction in how to use the sword or other weapons, so I am far behind in being able to fight the way I should here.

Keep in mind, mate, not everyone who gets pulled here are warriors. The Seal has pulled children through, for fuck's sake. We learn, we train, we fight as best we can and do what we can to help, but that doesn't makes us all soldiers who are set to fight the good fight and do nothing else but that. Because the people who get brought here, we're more than fighters. We are friends and parents and lovers and we have ALL been taken from our homes to fight a battle most of us knew nothing about. So don't mistake people picking up the pieces of their lives for forgetting that there's a war on, or giving up.

I think you might be getting kind of the wrong idea. It's not that we're ignoring the battles and stuff. Just, if all anyone focused on was the next fight, we'd all go nuts. But we aren't ignoring it. I don't think it's possible to actually flatout ignore the stuff that goes on here.

I'm so sorry my wedding is such an inconvenience to you and your war. But I was told when I arrived to view my life here as a second chance to live and I fully intend to. That doesn't mean I haven't been fighting and learning to end this when it comes. But I'm not going to throw away my last chance at living, either.

Well you certainly stirred up things in this post. Was dancing with me so bad?

It's like the others say though, we need to be able to focus and have fun in order to fight at our best. More in our lives than the fight. Like for me, my studies and my friends. I've already been dead, I can't go back to my life as it was, my little sister committed suicide and my parents have been moving on with their lives. I need to be able to have a life here, as well as fighting to pay back the demons for what they did to me. I want to be fulfilled in my life, to feel the connections to people, to fall in love. Because if I don't, if I truly do give up on those dreams, then fighting becomes empty and I have no reason to keep fighting to stay alive. I might as well just strap the metaphorical bomb to my chest and walk into a mass of demons or something.

Everyone else, they want to live, be it for fear of death or because of some purpose they think they must fulfil or whatever other reason they may have, they've got a reason, and plenty of them have given you some of those reasons. Aside from taking the classes and trying to keep ourselves up-to-date on whatever knowledge is available, how do you think we can prepare for something we can't predict? Do you know when Lucifer is going to make his next move? Do you know where he is? Weak spots we could hit while things are low and quiet? I think if anyone had any ideas on how to go about that, so this war could be over? They'd be putting it out there and we'd all be discussing it and putting the plan into action. Because none of us want this war any more than you do. I promise.

There's several of us that patrol regularly. We don't really post about it. Sometimes things pop up, some supernatural and some not, and they're dealt with accordingly. Sometimes the nights are entirely uneventful and you're just grateful that nothing bad happened.

Everyone has their way of dealing with issues. You can't focus on one thing all the time or you're brain will explode. Well, maybe you can, but humanity as a whole needs to let off steam every once in a while. Even those in dire situations occasionally need time away from it, and life doesn't stop just because we're at war.

That said, there's little I dislike more than 'shit starters,' and this falls under the category. If you have a problem with someone, take it up with them personally instead of riling up everyone in Lawrence. To be frank, it's a giant waste of time to make this post instead of going out and actually doing anything. If you've got information that we can work with, please do share. If you're just bitching to bitch, stay off the line.
